PKDM WagonR Doing Less Engine Oil

I have Pakistan Domestic Model for WagonR(VXL) Model 2017 with Odometer: 86000KM
Generally, my services were done from Suzuki Gujranwala Motors, but from last year, due to Eid-al-Adha my engine oil was at a peak of 5500KM so I had to change it and Suzuki center was closed because of the Eid holidays. Normally, Suzuki itself pours Suzuki Ultimate 10w-40, so Suzuki being closed I changed my Engine oil from the local market to Total Quartz-9000 5w-30. To my surprise, I saw the car was more responsive than before and was providing me with a better fuel average compared to Suzuki Oil at that time Odometer was at 50K. Later on, I continued getting Total 5w30 for my car which was going very well and normal maintenance was being done by Suzuki.
Now from the past two oil changes as I randomly check my oil levels, I have seen the engine becoming less, normally the strip was filled until 5K but now around 3500 the engine level decreases not by much but to 75% and even after driving it for another 1K remained the same although the color became darker from slight brown to dark brown but didn't decrease much.
With this scenario, I wanted to ask what could be the reason for the engine to do less oil, should I change my grade? as oil is not getting leaked I am confused because I have shown Suzuki and asked them they said your engine is finished it will require an Engine Overhaul to fix this.
I am confused can someone please explain what should I do? what is the best option to fix this? as my car is still new although its 2017 model but home driven with 86K odometer.

This is what happens when the owner's manual says 0W-20 oil and dealerships keep pouring 10W-40.
Your engine's life is reduced with thick oil. I have a 2015 Wagon R with 72,000 km driven, and I still use 0W-20 oil, and it still runs like new. No oil reduction, no heat up, better acceleration, and fuel economy.

Basically, your engine is ruined. One option is to keep using 5W-30 and top it up whenever oil is low.
The other option is to switch back to 10W-40 but switching to thick oil even if it's reducing it is not recommended with modern engines. Eventually you will need to overhaul your engine to properly fix it.

Switch back to 10w-40. Otherwise there is no harm in topping up the oil after every 1000 km or so. My brother bought a 2012 vitz and to our horror the car was reducing oil. Took it to a "computerised scanner" guy he charged 3000 just to let us know that the engine is 40% and it will fail in 2 weeks, overhaul kra lain. Its been 3 yrs since then, I have driven it to nathiagali, ajk, kutton, monal etc etc. No issues with engine till now. Just keep a spare bottle of 5w'30 and keep topping up. Or switch back to 10w-40 and the issue will be solved Inshallah.

its seems that due to usage of thick oil 10W-40 oil the sludge has formed and PCV valve is blocked. after you started using 5W-30 block PCV is not recycling oil vapors. and you are noticing oil burning issue. Replace OEM new PCV valve before next oil change and observe engine oil level at regular intervals.

I took it to Suzuki Center and they changed my oil to SGO Ultimate 10w-40 and Service Technician asked me to check the level of oil after 1K intervals, if the oil decreases than your engine has no power left and will require an Engine Overhaul to fix this.

Do not go for overhaul without discussing possible solutions on this forum. Reverting back to 10W-40 will solve the problem though. Good luck and keep us updated

so it would appear that simple compression tests and leakdown tests are beyond the skill level of these so called service technicians.

I have a 2017 wagonr also, done 180k km and engine is running strong but oil after 5000km reduces from top marker on dip stick to middle between the top and bottom markers for oil level. I guess, with wear and tear this is normal as engine will begin consuming oil after that much use.
Possible fix could be to switch to 5w40 or 10w40 if the oil consumption is more than the half marker on dip stick before reaching 5000 km between oil changes.

I am using 5w30 that suzuki one. Should I change to 0w20?

My car is 70000km driven?

Plus which tyre size do you recommend? i want to change my tycoon tyres. Somebody told me165/65 R14

I dont like the drive of the tycoon. This is my second set of tycoons.

If you dont mind telling me how much is your car driven now? Has it given you any big mechanical

My car is 2014 dec 70000km driven but now the AC is a little bit weaker. But no major problems till now.

My mileage dropped after the 3rd year of owning it but rest all is good. Car is fine and I love it. I just changed front shockes this year because of the bad breakers here in Peshawar

What have you guys done with Coolant? I never changed it in these 10 years. Just when the reservoir box goes to middle I just top it up. Do we have to flush the cooland and put new inside?

I'm using Suzuki 10w-40 engine oil with 130k reading at meter. It was switched by Suzuki service center at around 72000kms.
Its first time that oil level has significantly decreased even change is still not due.
Need suggestions if I need to change engine oil from 10w-40 to lighter one or what should be done.

Were you using 10w-40 since the beginning or did suzuki center switch from lower viscosity oil like 5w30 to this one? Contrary to popular belief, a thicker oil can actually exacerbate oil consumption issues since it's marginally more difficult for the oil contorl rings to scrape of the cylinder walls especially when engine is cold or below operating temperature.
Things you can try are:
1. Clean the PCV valve. Sometimes a clogged PCV valve can remain stuck open or even closed and cause oil consumption issues.
2. Change to a lighter weight oil like 5w30 and observe the oil consumption.
3. Check if the piston rings are compromised, you can have a compression test done to check this. There is not much to do other than topping off the oil in between oil change intervals.
4. Try this at your own risk. It worked for me. My car (also a wagonR) was consuming a bit of oil like down to halfway between top and bottom marker on dipstick. I used AMS Oil engine flush (this is very controversial, I know) and seemed to have helped with cleaning the piston rings enough that the oil consumption is minimised. The car mileage is at 198k kms now.
