Well...Its been 20 years mate...Don't remember everything exactly..I will try to share as much as possible...
We were group of 6 class fellows and planned this trip just after our F.Sc exams...
The Route was as followed :
Day 1 Left via train from Lahore at night
Day 2 Left the train at Sukker and took a public Hiace for Jacobabad..Left Jacobabad at Night for Quetta by Bus.
Day 3 Reached Quetta in the morning..Left for Zahidan( Iran ) by train in Noon.
Day 4 Reached Dalbandin early in the morning ..Left the tran bcz it was too slow and hired a Double cabin hilux for taftan.
Reached Taftan Border in the noon and Zahidan in after noon.
Day 5 Left for Tehran by Bus at 2pm and reached Tehran 2pm next Day
Day 6-7 Wandered and visited places in Tehran
Day 8 Left Tehran for Istanbul at noon by Bus Its was about 54 Hours Journey...So reached Istanbul at 6pm of Day 10
Day 10 Reached Istanbul , Had dinner and slept
Day 11,12,13 TopKapi Museum, Ghulane Park, Sultan Ahmat Mosque, Prince's Islands Etc Etc.
Day 14 to Day 20 All the way travelling back to Pakistan via same route
Expenses :
You won't believe at that time the exchange rate was USD 1 = 7000 Turkish Lira
In tehran we stayed in a good hotel and the rent was equivalent to Rs.500 PKR per room
In istanbul we stayed in a hotel @ USD 8 per Person and then moved to another hotel @ USD 4 per Person.
My total expenses was about USD 500 for that tour which also included some shopping
