Planning a visit to Chillas Need some assistance

Dear All,

I am thinking to visit Chillas with family, I understand it’s a nice place, although I don’t know how long it takes to reach Chillas from Abbottabad, if its within 6 hrs drive from there it will be fine with me, I intend to plan the visit from Lahore to Abbottabad to Chillas then Shangrila if not a very long drive, I will appreciate if you may please assist with following questions.

1.How long does it take to reach Chillas from Abbottabad whats the road condition?
2. Are there any good hotels to stay overnight in chillas 
3. How long does it take to reach Shangrila from Chillas and whats the road condition.
4. Incase it takes morethen 6 hrs to reach shangrila from Chillas then please suggest any alternet place nearby.

I have already been to Naran do not intend to visit again

chillas is not worth visiting alone yar. there is nothing to do and c there ecept some ancient drawings of Buddha etc.......

its just a stop over for gilgit and fairy meadows etc

Chilas is very hot in summer and u need AC / air coolers at night. Also, the food is the worst i have eaten in whole North of Pakistan.

It is just used for stop-over on way to Gilgit or Baltistan.

There are many hotels in Chilas with rents ranging from 1000-2500 but only Shangrila has a bit reasonable food.

It will take 12-14 hours from Abbottabad to reach Chilas. If u want to drive 6 hours then stay at Besham and then next day reach Chilas.

Shangrila Skardu is around 8 hours drive from Chilas. This u have to cover in one day as there is no reasonable place in between to stay.

Good description provided by aesiege about the routes and places.

You have to travel atlease 8-10 hour to reach the destinations.

very hot place (chilas). Not suitable for family trip.

its better for u to go to besham.it is 6 hrs drive from abbotabad.there u caan stay in ptdc motel near indus river.very gud view.security matters are also not gud in chillas.
enjoy beautiful view on indus river from besham motel.relax and *** back.

plan to stay 1 night in besham then 1 in chillas... then go to hunza valley and stay there for a couple of nights.. it will be worth ur visit
