AOA everyone.
I am planning to visit Gilgit on 26th August and wish to visit all the valleys of Gilgit i.e Hunza Valley, Naltar Valley, Ghizer Valley and Astore Valley.
For this purpose I have few questions and queries which I will share from you all and expect that all my queries will be solved here.
Itinerary:
Day 1
Departure from Karachi via Tezgam at 5:30 p.m.
Day 2
Reach Pindi at 7 p,m and then take Natco at 10 p.m for Gilgit.
Day 3
Reach gilgit at night and stay in some hotel or rest house.
Day 4
Next day leave for Attabad lake and Khujerab Pass early morning and stay at Aliabad at night or come back to gilgit at night.
Day 5
Leave for Nomal early morning and go to Naltar Valley and visit lakes via jeep. Come back at night and stay at naltar valley or come back to Gilgit.
Day 6
Leave for Ghizer Valley early morning and visit lakes. Come back to gilgit at night.
Day 7
Leave for Astore early morning from Gilgit and visit Rama lake via jeep and come back to astore.
Day 8
Leave for Deosai from Astore valley and do night camping at deosai.
Day 9
Come back to Chillam and then goes to Minimarg (Rainbow Lake) and come back by night at astore.
Day 10
Come back to Gilgit from Astore and then take bus from Gilgit to Pindi.
Day 11
Departure from Pindi for Karachi.
Okay, so this is the schedule which I have made through a rough idea which I have got from PW forum and from other websites as well. I know that there would be so many mistakes in this schedule and maybe the whole schedule needs to be changed and for this purpose I wrote my schedule here.
Now my query is that what changes should I made in my schedule?
My questions are:
Can I visit Attabad Lake and Khujerab pass in single day from Gilgit if I leave early morning at 6 or 7 a.m ? And come back to Gilgit at night or should I stay in Aliabad or Sost or Passu ?
Same question goes for Naltar valley as well that can I visit the whole naltar valley in a single day? And should I stay at naltar valley at night, if yes so is there any good and reasonable hotel available in Naltar valley? Or should I come back to gilgit at night. And how much will the jeep takes for the 4 lakes?
Again same question for Ghizer valley as well that can I visit the whole Ghizer Valley in a single day? And can come back at gilgit by night or I have to stay somewhere in Ghizer and is there any good and reasonable hotels in Ghizer? And do I need to hire a jeep for Ghizer valley and what the jeep will cost?
About Astore, I want to know that where I can stay in Astore? Names and contact number of some good and reasonable hotels please?
I have decided to visit Rama lake on the same day I reach Astore from Gilgit. So how much time does it takes to visit Rama lake? And what does the jeep cost for Rama lake?
I want to visit Deosai and minimarg both on two different days. And as you know chillam is the center point for both there places. So is there any hotel to stay in Chillam or I have to go back to astore and then come back again the next day?
How much time it will take to reach Sheosar lake and Bara Pani? Are there camps available in Astore or Deosai ? If yes so what does it cost and is it good and safe to do camping in deosai ?
How much does the jeep takes for Deosai for the whole one day ? And from where can I get the jeep ?
I know that we need some special permission from Army for minimarg. So if I get the permission so how much time would it take to go Rainbow lake from Chillas or Astore?
So these are the questions which I expect that I will the answer from this forum. Looking forward for the replies from some experts.
