Assalam-O-Alaikum
bro i travelled from Karachi to Lahore Islamabad Murree peshawar in Feb 2017. I left at 3:30 am from karachi and reached bahawalpur around 7:30 pm. give 10-15 min rest at every cng refill. My car was civic vti 98 model automatic. we rented a hotel with 3 beds in bhawalpur for pkr 2500/-
from karachi to Bhawalpur stick to N5. from Bhawalpur you have to go to multan and there is a newly built motorway. after that motor way stick back to n5. if you are willing to go direct to Islamabad ask some 1 else for route because i went to lahore stayed there 3-4 days then continued my journey.
make sure your car is perfect, engine, suspension, tyres steering etc.
change oil and filters, do wheel balancing and alignment. keep search torch, jump starter cable and rope for towing. add coolant and keep extra hose pipe, spark plugs and engine oil.
on my way to murree my 1 injector was blocked so i changed it by my self only take few mins.
when i traveled i got only learner license applied for permanent but they failed me in driving test.
get ACLC NOC from ACLC shareef abad, also try to get some 500rs highway insurance from any insurance company, clear the road tax and put sticker on front screen, sand blast chasis engine and reg number on front and back screen. Print excise verification from there website http://www.excise.gos.pk/vehiclefind/
keep orignal book if car is on your name then it will be much better you will not face any problem and also keep orignal tax slip with you.
always wear seat belt, be careful with trollys and trailer they some time change line without signal. dont try to over speed, i drove on highway max 90kmph and on motorway 120kmph dnt cross the limit.
donot change lane without signal and try to take atleast 2 driver with you. i was traveling with my mother and sister so all the way i have to drive by my self and its too much difficult task. keep some sweets with you it helps me avoiding dazzling during driving
take food with you and dnt buy food from highway some dhaba have good food but try to avoid it.
roads are way much better and no issue and if you travel with family i think you will not face any issue from police wala. we were stopped by rangers at sindh punjab border and when they see that im with family they let us go without checking any thing. after ranger post sindh police wala are there dnt look to them just avoid and keep driving, once you entered punjab you will not face any police issues until you break rules.
best of luck and when you complete your trip share with us.
