Suzuki Margala 1996, manual, petrol, w/o AC, stereo on.
Drive on petrol around 50 km daily except Sunday at average speed of 70 km/h.
Regular Expenses: About Rs. 16,000 per month.
Fuel (every month) = About Rs. 13,000 (Rs. 8 - 11 kmpl)
Oil and oil filter (every 3000 km; around 2 months) = Rs. 1,900,
Full engine service (every month) = Rs. 1,000,
Tyre repairs (puncture, replace tube) = Rs. 500,
Emergency/other expenses:
After every two to three months= Timing belt replacement (Rs. 3,000 > Rs. 1,500 labour, Rs. 500 belt, Rs. 1,000 towing).
After every 1.5 years= Rs. 4,500 (new battery)
After every two years = Rs. 18,000 (new tyres, 13''), suspension (Rs. 15,000), radiator (Rs. 5,000).
Conclusion:
It costs me more to maintain this car than a 1800 cc car. So, I am selling my car next month to buy a Honda or Toyota in a few months.
My advice to people:
Buy this car only if you love a big 1300 cc car but can afford to pay Rs. 3 lacs. Otherwise go for a Toyota and Honda Civic, even used car. Suzuki is a crap company.
