You can easily go till bahrain and roads are quite good. From bahrain to kalam there is no road but you still can go in your car but that is not advisable. You can hire a car from bahrain and can visit kalam.i do not know the situation of snow in that area but there will be no issue till bahrain
I visited last June 2018. Till Bahrain, it's excellent.
From Bahrain to Kalam, road is non-existent. It's mud and stones. You can take your car till Kalam but be very very patient and travel in day light.
Road from Bahrain to Kalam is very bad.Cars can go but taking your city is not advisable.Corolla is very good for that road. Or you can go in Corolla fielder hired from Bahrain till Kalam.
I just finished my family Road trip of Sawat Valley from Karachi. ( March 23- April 02). Yes, Roads after Bahrain are under construction and totally off road, It is better to Hire a car from Bahrain and enjoy the Cold weather and snow in Kalam. Road to Malam Jabba is also under construction but better. As snow has started melting so there is mud everywhere. You have to leave you car before 3-4 KM before Malam Jabba due to extreme Mud and hire a 4x4 for upward. Enjoy your trip and stay blessed.
