Plz help ... Query about Honda 125 cc 1991

dear pak wheelers,,,, i am new to bikes world and have some queries.... i would appreciate you all if you could help me

1. my bike is giving not more than 32 -35 km ... i hardly go above 60 kmph.. not a aggressive rider,,,.

2. i got my engine overhauled 8 months ago,, and using GTX oil for engine and change it after every 1000 km. this oil viscosity is very very low. can i use any other oil which is little viscus comparatively. is it ok to use open market oil,,,few of my friends use it and they say it is OK.

3. i m afraid to take my bike to mechanic cause when ever i take it to mechanic some bad news is ready in sense of replacement ( like seals,,,piston,,cylinder etc)

4. i am a calm rider hardly touch 70 kmph, shift gears on low rpm,,, but still my bike requires such work.

mechanics in my area are such a BEEP they take bike for all day n does nothing and than say bring it again next day.

1. 32-33KM IS the real fuel average of CG-125. However, thats also because Its running RICH. You'll have to get the carb adjusted to be able to achieve better economy (atleast 40KM/L)

2. If GTX is not giving you any trouble, you should keep using it. If viscosity LOOKS to be less, doesn't mean its bad in LUBRICATION. I have also noted another thing. Most mechanics in Villages/Towns (say, Mananwala before Shahkot) recommend GTX. However, mechanics in bigger cities like Lahore recommend Havoline, which is like the Usual engine oil everybody uses.
   About the Open Market oils (say, Irani Oil) ... i think its all about Mental Satisfaction. Some people say it heats up their engine more as compared to Havoline. However, i dont have any personal experience regarding them. (Dont wanna do tajarbaat with my ride)

3. It took me time to understand, but NEVER visit mechanics OFTEN. 99% of them never tell you whats REALLY wrong with your bike. Heck i used to go to my mechanic in start for Tunings etc, but now i myself do it. (All it needs: Wash Air Filter, clean Spark Plug, Change Engine Oil ... and your Tuning is DONE).
   Also, NEVER LEAVE your bike in the shop. BE PRESENT there. Anything you need for the bike, BUY IT YOURSELF.

4. I think the reason behind all these work is the Model of the bike which is very old. However, note that its Machinery. Kabhi kabhi tang karti hay kaafi. Just dont let it mess up your head

thank you for quick response....i did replaced its plug,,, cleaned its airfilter my self,,, and oill change as told after every 1000km,,,, but my bike needs a ppoint replacement,,,it starts making backfire after 70kmph or 80 kmph.

regarding oil,,, its quite hot here in khi these days and you know oil gets thin while running hot,,, that is why i was curious about pouring thick oil... and few months before my mechanic un mounted cylinder for replacing seals,,,, and found rough marks on piston so i had to replace it as well,,,,,, i think it was due to oil,,,what you say...??
