AoA,
I am looking for some suggestions for upcoming vacation plans in Karachi during December-January timeframe. I live overseas, and wanted to explore surrounding areas of Karachi. A few things to note about me that might set the context. I've never driven in pakistan. I am, however comfortable driving off-roads, and in dense spider-web road structures. I'm pretty self-reliant when it comes to road trip and enjoy long rides. So I think I can handle the drive.
So now where do I want to go. I was thinking Ranikot, may be Gawadar? I don't want to drive more than 10 hours to get there, stay about two/three days and head back to Karachi. I love out-doors/senic drives. I will take my wife and kids with me (11 and 4 year old). I am planning to buy a car ... 2007+ Civic or Corrolla.
Any suggestions are welcome. I want a fun/family friendly destination that is safe (I know safety is a relative term in Pakistan). lastly, we love to go remote places and not the typical commercial hubs.
