Poor fuel economy of vitz 2012

Assalamualaikum. My car has been giving poor fuel economy since the last 3-4 months. I am getting around 9-10 km/l in the last 3-4 months. The best I got was 10.65 km/l. My route involves a few signals(4-6) but I usually deploy press and release technique .I don't drive with a heavy foot , mostly​ light to medium foot. I recently changed the engine oil. Air filter is new. Checked the spark plugs as well. Tires are okay . Decent amount of tread remaining. Also I have seen that the fuel average on the odometer display has been showing 12.1 km/l in that period, but I am barely achieving 10. Help needed? Jazakallah

What viscosity grade oil ou are using?

It should be 5W30 grade oil with API SN or ILSAC GF-5 certification.

The oil must be 5W30 graded..
Spark plugs should be original that are iridium ones, that company recommended.
Air filter should be of better quality
Also try cleaning throttle body and wheel balancing and alignment and if tyranny oil isn't changed then change it too..
Oil grading in this 1000cc 3 cylinder engine matters the most

There must be some problem. I am getting 12 avg in hilly area. Same car give 16 to 18 on long routes..plain area

I am Using 10w-30 Toyota Motor Oil(API -SNCF) . I changed it 3 months ago. Do i really need to shift to 5W-30 ?

2)Sparks Plug are original. They are of DENSO SK16HR.
3)Air filter is of good quality i.e Toyota Genuine Air Filter.
4)Haven't Cleaned the throttle body. Can you tell how much is the cost for it ? Any good shops in karachi near PECHS? 5)Wheel Alignment last done when i changed the tires and rims on August 2015.
6)Transmission Oil Changed When i Bought it (August 2015)

No bro 10w30 won't make any difference..
Just clean throttle body it will cost you 1000-1500 if you done it from good workshop
Go for transmission oil change and do it from Toyota..
40K max for transmission oil after that it's a risk to ruin the tyranny..
I recommend you to change cvt oil and ask Toyota dealership to tune your car completely..
You will get better results for sure

Also check if the catalytic converter is OK or chocked
Of chocked get it cleaned from a good mechanic

All right. I will go for the throttle body cleaning and and Catalytic converter check and probably the tyranny oil . Hopefully results will improve. Jazak Allah.

Most of the times mechanics recommend to remove cat converter. Do not remove cat converter. Get it cleaned/serviced if not srrvicable then replace.

Change CVT oil every 40000km. Get throttle body serviced. You don't need to change to 5w30 immediately, on next oil change switch to 5w30.

get it diagnosed first the things needs to be checked during diagnosis are as follows .
it is common not o extract any DTC's during scan job but the active live readings and Onboard testings will reveal the actual situation. Things need to be checked are.
1: SHFT + LTFt both on Idle till 2500 rpm range .
2: Catalytic Converter temperature sensors variation on both Upstream and downstream sensor.
3: A/F Ratio and downstream sensor Reading variation by activating the onboard tests to verify the working of Catalytic Converter.

4:EGR Flow Variation and testing.
5:VVti cam gear changing values

6: Cylinder misfires counts if any are present.
7: CVTF Fluid Temperature monitoring .
8: AND LAST AND FINAL AND IMPORTANT STEP ( CVTF FLUID PRESSURE TESTING ) IF THE FLUID PRESSURE IS BELOW NORMAL THAN DONT CHANGE THE CVTF FLUID IT WILL WORSEN THE SITUATION AND ACCELERATE THE NORMAL WEAR. THE ONLY SOLOUTION IS TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSY SERVICING.

UPDATE: Today I reseted the avg km/l which was stuck at 12.1 km/l for the last 3 months(I mentioned it in my first post).. It was showing 14.7 km/l avg fuel consumption today. So the problem was with the sensor or something ? Or this is some kind of sorcery!! I still have 3 bars remaining of fuel. Let me see how much it goes on it.

how did you reset the avg km/l ?

Select the km/l and hold the trip for 3-4 sec it will reset.
