The Porsche 918 Spyder is the electrifying future of Porsche?s sports car lineup; Its the plug in Hybrid sports car. The 4.6-litre V8 delivers 608bhp to the rear wheels and revs to 9150 RPM. To that, add 277bhp of electric power operating on both front and rear axles for a top speed beyond 211mph and 0-62mph in 2.6sec. On a full battery charge, 918 can do 18 miles purely on electric power at speeds up to 93mph.
918 Spyder cost around $0.9Million. An option package Weissach Package named after Porsches hallowed research center in the town of Weissach takes some 90 pounds off the car, from a multitude of significant carbon fiber touches to magnesium wheels that save 33 pounds per set. Cost to you is an additional $84,000, or the base sticker price of a new 911 Carrera. Only 918 will be built for sale...
