AoA someone is selling a port auction car on less than market rate. The reason for selling it he states is that he needs cash to make some payments and is even willing to accept instalments of up to 1 year for 1/3rd of the total car value.
He claims that the car is 'all clear', registered in excise and car has registration number and 5000 km driven in Karachi, however the pictures he sent had AFR number plate. The dealer says its registered in excise but auction sheet is not available because it is 'auction ki gari'.
Should I buy the car? What preclusions should I take? What process should I follow to make sure everything is legit and legal and avoid any scams?
For what I have learned is that the cars that the owners did not clear from port are then auctioned off by the port to clear the space.
Any guidance would be very helpful. First timer here. JazakAllah.
PS: I have read other related posts, some say to NEVER buy such car, some say to get the chassis number and get Auction sheet verified. I'm not sure what to do exactly.
