potable ac r usually 9000 btu .. it will take around 1100w per hr .. a current of around 4amp ... that would mean continous usage will drop 1 unit on electric meter every 90mins (approx) .. it should work good in a room size 10 x 12 if the sealing is good .. direct sunlight on walls and windows is less and te ac runs continously .. normal repairs should be availble but compressor repair might be problem (depending on design of compressor) .. always buy a such acs with sealed compressors and should be rust free

bro 1100 w means around 1 unit per. why you mentioned 1 unit every 1.5 hour?? is it because of temp setting or?

plus my i have 1 hp water pump that consumes around 6 amp however the submeter installed shows only 1 unit drop each hour or even less... what can be the reason - it is a double capacitor motor...thanks

yes 1kw is 1 unit per hr ... sorry i was calc from another perspective ... and i dont think it will trip much since it is a smaller unit but if trips like other ac after reaching a certain temp then the elec consumption would be around 1 unit for 1hr and 15 min approx

I am facing problem in using my 110 A/c, when I On my a/c , it compressor work for few minutes and then compressor off, after few minutes compressor again start working and after few minutes cooling its turn off again and not maintaining the room temperature .

Please any one guide me.

u were using a window ac, right? so half of it was out of the room for exhaust?
