Portable AC availbale at Jakson market karachi

Does anyone have knowledge about Portable AC availbale at Jakson market karachi?

Are they problem free and repairable?

I have heared they consume very low voltage like Refrigerator and capacity is 0.75 Ton which is suitable for 10x10 room.

I have used one, not portable, but 110 volts 0.75 ton ac. It is called 2 pin ac as well. They will give u after Showing its colling, as soon as u r out from shop, it is all yours.

Fortunately i used it for 3 years! Afterwards it bcame useless for me as i moved to big house, where there are no small rooms.

it donest auto restart and you have to fix a hot air exhaust somwhere out from room for better cooling

Only once. Its kit was burnt, due to putting its plug directly into 220 volts. It was replaced by AC service guy himself, in Rs.1,500/- otherwise cooling was perfect as my room size was 11x12.

I bought is for 6k 5 years back plus 220 to 110 volt converter for 2k (i think).

This one, the OP is looking for, would cost around 15k to 20k i guess.

My room was 11 x 12. And cooling was perfect. Electricity consumption was much lower than (may be half) of 1 ton ac as it used to run on simple two pin plug.

Asim bhai, yes it was wall mounted, i placed it in window!

Cooling was obviously low as compared to 1 ton. But used to chill the room in 2 hours.

@raza1 the room is 20 x 20 with false ceiling at 8 feet, and it is mounted 24 inches above the floor it is " OUTAQ " with floor sitting arrangement, cooling is COOL, may be room with furniture, mattress, cushions, curtain & flooring have affect for room size

if i have read correctly, it takes constant 8 amps ?? and there is no inverter type model...

potable ac r usually 9000 btu .. it will take around 1100w per hr .. a current of around 4amp ... that would mean continous usage will drop 1 unit on electric meter every 90mins (approx) .. it should work good in a room size 10 x 12 if the sealing is good .. direct sunlight on walls and windows is less and te ac runs continously .. normal repairs should be availble but compressor repair might be problem (depending on design of compressor) .. always buy a such acs with sealed compressors and should be rust free
