There is a range reset function attached to fuel lid .. when u open fuel lid for tank filling it resets ur odometer trip reading and the range .. that actuator is not functioning or gave wrong input .. nothing to do with quality of fuel .. the ecu calculates the amount of fuel and the fuel consumption reading and a range is given

do not use STP .. there r already additives (with very high level magnesium) in the fuel in pakistan .. this stp will kill ur seals and rubber parts .. google for further details .. search harmful effects of STP

Do not run on empty tank .. sediments and impurities settle at the bottom of the tank .. its always recommended to refil when level reaches quarter of tank .. ur fuel reading is almost quarter after filling fuel means u were running on fuel, with very low levels

My tank has never been near empty. the bad fuel was making a knocking sound also. anything below RON 87 will hurt this car. OGRA has verified that our fuel is crap. The effects of bad fuel is damaging engines and also confuses the sensors. and i use fuel additives 6 times in a year. Been using them since 2006. No issues so far in any of my vehicles.

Quality of fuel has nothing to do with the range calculation. Someone above mentioned their is a reset function near the fuel cap.

The range calculation depends on quantity of fuel added not the quality.

fuel additives make rubber parts dry and seals leak .. u can use them till ur seals start giving away .. may be the switch resetting range function gave away because of this STP because its located near ur fuel lid.. do u know that fuel additives do not increase RON rating .. at least not STP .. study ethanol and alcohol values in fuel .. STP doesn't even clean fuel injectors .. the additives that increase the ron rating r already being added by fuel companies .. to make it equivalent to 91-92 ron but unfortunately the lead and magnesium content is too high ... these off shelf additives r mostly business gimics .. try studying and going into detail function before using them blindly .. i sent u a link if only u can study it for a starter

PEA : polyether amine is a chemical which does break carbon and takes it off the intakes valves mainly and somewhat from injectors ... yet this chemical also causes rubber and plastic parts to dry and break prematurely ... the carbon removal is very minimal like :-
- an injector will never be free of carbon deposits
- carbon on valves will reduce to upto 70% in 15-20k km running with this fuel additive but only if the chemical is continuously added to ur fuel

What is not there in this study that PEA also brakes carbon from areas where sludge is formed like the gaps in moving part of engine .. removal of this sludge or slag will reduce engine life

i have read these a long time ago .. it doesn't state that

OGRA says fuel in Pakistan is crap

That is what every one is waiting for .. OGRA to acknowledge, because only then this additive content will reduce and higher quality fuel will be imported .. even that higher quality fuel did come but the game changed suddenly .. Attock refineries r now mixing the local blend, imported and the additives

As far as i know even the HOBC in pakistan in being made of these additives .. if true, then hobc is technically more harmful .. but this is based on rumors in production circle, i cannot state for sure
