Power Steering help - Cultus

Hi,

I am planning to upgrade to Suzuki Cultus VXR (2004-2006). The problem is, it doesn't come up with a power steering. So I plan to install it. I heard that EBS is better than HBS. And I also came to know that Shershah is the right place to get it installed.

I wanted to ask that, should I go for it? What will be the total cost of EBS and HBS? Anyone here knows better mechanic? And if someone can provide me with mechanic contact, he is welcomed.

Its EPS and HPS
EPS= Electronic Power Steering
HPS= Hydraulic Power Steering

and sorry I dont know about any mechanic for this

go for eps.. u should get the entire setup for not more than 6k.. run a search over this forum... u ll find few conversions, contact the posts they would be able to guide u..

eps= win , no maintenance, no engine power wasted and low cost, and no alteration to car required

EPS is better than HPS but I doubt you'll get an EPS for Cultus. If you do, that will require some alteration and won't be a bolt on fit like you get for an Alto.

its pretty much possible, my brother got eps in margalla from bilal gunj, no alteration to car, only the motor of eps was a little altered to use less space and it is lighter than my dad's corollas hps. you can move it with a finger

Minor alterations are OK. I meant there isn't a bolt on setup as far as I know for Cultus like there is for Alto. People who get Alto's steering powered install EPS of the Japanese Alto, therefore no such alteration is required. Last year, I got my Alto powered and wanted to get Cultus powered too but couldn't find an EPS setup for her. VXL Cultus comes with HPS however.

Yes, I meant EPS not EBS. My bad.

Thanks everyone for replies. A member said VXL comes with HPS, so I guess I would need HPS since I don't want any alteration in my engine. Plus, where are the best mechanics for this job? A guy said it would cost me Rs.6k for complete EPS setup, is it true?

EPS is way better than HPS. But for Cultus ,don't do it. Better buy a VXL Cultus which comes with a FF HPS

All of you guys recommending HPS need to read that page that wakman linked to above. HPS is obsolete! EPS is the only choice unless you fancy living in the past.

Today got installed EPS in my 2010 model cultus from Faisalabad. very comfortable and expert services at Goreja suzuki Autos old parts market. Advised to all those wana comfy n safe drive. All myths related to EPS conversion busted today so highly recommended.

total cost 9.5k. jap alto kit made by mitsubishi. alterations done to steering column but was perfectly done and fitted by mechanic. i am 100% pleased with work n performace. The steering gets harder automatically when crossing 40 kmph. Its totally safe and 50% more softer than HPS.
