Power steering noise in city i-vtec

AOA, we have Honda city 1.3 i-vtec. From some time the steering makes some noise while turning specially when the car is still. We took the car to the mechanic, they did some greasing of the steering wheel but still the sound comes while turning. Does anybody have any idea what could be the issue? Note that power steering itself is working fine.

g bhai, meray cousin ki car (Swift) main bhi same problem thi ..steering wheel turn karnay se choon choon ki awazain ati thin .. he did some suspension kangi, etc work done and the voices disappeared. It's basically not related to the steering wheel itself, but suspension components.

WAS, I didnt understand what you meant by "power steering itself is working fine", anyway I am not sure if your mechanic has checked the power steering fluid level but i had the same issue and the pressure in power steering system would fall as fluid used to leak from the power steering hose, i got the hose replaced and the issue was solved, it was a honda civic.

It's the pump. It must be leaking oil. All hondas with hydrolic power steering have that problem. I have the same issue in my Civic and honestly I have given up on solutions because the problem keeps coming back. Now what I do is I keep a bottle of power steering oil in my car and whenever it starts making those honing noises I just top up the power steering oil.
A more permanent fix would be to get an electrical power steering (kabli) but that might cost you upwards of 40k.

Instead of keeping that bottle, why not change your idiot mechanic.

Any hydraulic power steering is very basic - same as farm tractor hydraulic units principle.

City iVTEC does not have hydrolic power steering. iDSI had Hydrolic Power Steering. Current model has EPS

Ur suspension might just be worn out.

well got it checked by the mechanic once again , he did greasing once again and this time the noise completely gone . btw how do we check for the suspension ?

I guess, No need to worried about, I once had the same thing - just took the car to 3S they just removed the streering cover and applied some grease to the pully of Horn and it settled very well.
