Prado 120 with 1GR-FE engine Cranks longer when starting

I have noticed that my Prado 120 with 1GR engines cranks a little longer before it starts. What could be the possible reason. I have been looking it up on internet so many people have been complaining about this issue. Cold starting seems perfect mostly it happens a when the engine is warm.

There are no errors when scanned, my mechanic says the oil pressure is normal. Should I live with it or is there any solution please share!!

What diagnosis have you or your mechanic done to identify the cause?

Loss of timing signal? Loss of fuel pressure? There are lots of variables at play.

Checked the oil pressure and scanned for codes. That’s all we did. Spark plugs are new. I use zic x7 10W40. Since I’m based in Gilgit, mechanics here aren’t very good. They experiment with almost everything.

Also, I have noticed that when starting cold there’s a slight black smoke as well, like, only for a second. I don’t know if that’s normal too. It only happens on a cold start and mostly early morning when I start it for the first time of the day. I hope everything is fine.

I was facing the exact issue with my Hilux 1GR. My mechanic thought that injectors might be needing service but i suggested him to check the fuel pump. After replacing the fuel pump the warm start has got a lot better.
