Prado FJ150 Headlights

Aoa dear Pakwheelers,

I bought an 09 Prado 150 a couple of months back. It was already face lifted to the newer 14 model.
It currently has the simple headlights which do not have the projection or the LED gimmicks. The lights are okay but they have HIDs in them in the lower beams. I do not feel comfortable driving with HIDs as they are a trouble for the oncoming traffic and i usually have to keep the headlights off and drive in just fog lamps.

Now I have a couple of questions regarding the headlights.

One option is to go for the lights which have projection in them. I have not physically visited the market but I got quoted different prices for different varieties. Apparently there are 3 different lights available, 1 is Chinese made costing 25000, 2nd is Taiwan made costing 35000 and 3rd is original costing 160000 for the pair. I don't know about the quality of these Chinese and Taiwanese lights. I have seen a lot of Prados roaming around with faded headlamps and I don't want those but the price for original ones is way too much. But these projection lights really do look great if they are in the right condition. Can anyone please confirm the quality of these Chinese/Taiwanese lights if anyone has any experience?

The other option is to change the HIDs with simple bulbs. I don't have much knowledge about these. Are LEDs an option?

LED will produce equal glare and scatter in halogen housings.

Best option would be to search kabli original ones from places like sultan ka khoo or bilal jung etc

Qabli are same as original... but used!
Who (shop or person) in bilalganj quote these for 80k?

Try the main shops. There r 2 ppl dealing with Land Cruiser parts. Ask them directly for confirmation:

I would still stay 80K for original ones is still a bargain.
Corolla ki OEM Projection lights cost 30k kabli
You car is worth 4 times more than a corolla yet only 80k its still a great deal

Why not go for 2018 lights they are pretty good as i have observed. I also find the 2014 facelifted lights decent enough low beam is projector.

If you want leds in high beam then try photum bulbs they are superb i have them in high beam of my corolla they produce zero glare and pretty brutal

2018 lights would costs quite a lot and they wont fit he will have to get the whole car face lifted to 2018

Finally bought these original lights from Bilalganj. Alhamdulillah satisfied.

Exactly what Saad said in another post, a lot of stuff will have to be changed in order to go for the 2018 lights. I kind of like the current shape that i have. For now i have the simple bulbs in high beam and i think they are enough because i hardly use the high beam. Loving the projectors as of now

Mind sharing the cost

and since high beams are halogen housing dont use HID or LED in them if you want something better get better halogens like OSRAM or something. I have tried Philips waste of money didnt like them

For low beam you can use any HID or LED since projector housing just make sure that you dont go over the original bulb wattage dont go crazy with 200W LED or HID which the wiring cant handle

Got these for 75k.

About the HID or LED, not using them in high beam and don't plan to do that either. Using simple halogens.
Also I am pretty satisfied with the low beam light and currently don't think anything needs to be changed.
