Precautions after driving in rain civic x

I have heard that with reborn and rebirth there is air suction problem in raining season I have civic 2018 just drove in yesterday's rain and there was lit of water as usual what precautionary measures should I take to check all the things are perfect

My friend killed his reborn engine in rain water
If air intake sucks in water
You aint reaching your home or destination my friend

Thank god I reached home safely but my friend also got his rebirth engine killed although he flush the engine after driving in rain and change the oil and everything and even then engine was wasted any idea how to check if engine has sucked water or not
