Precautions During running Period (Overhauled Engine) of Generator

@Xulfiqar Sir i want to know what precautions should we take when we overhaul a 2.5 kva generator?

I have to replace to block as it has been cracked... and also the connecting rod is broken, now i want to overhaul then engine, the mechanic said that he will install new block and he will also bore it...

Now i want to know how to make sure that rings seat properly, as i have read your post regarding break in period of car that we should not hold on one rpm and also not idle for break in period... So how can we manage that on generator?

And also tell me other things like should i run it without load initially and also tell me can i do the break in period on gas or not? and plz also point other points of precautions...

Firstly you need a service manual to start the rebuild.
It will be just like a normal engine nothing exceptional.
If gaps are set according to service manual then there's no break-in period needed.

It is being done by a Generator mechanic... And i am not able to find Loncin LC3500(D)-A 's Service manual....

I am more worried regarding This;

Accelerating gently to mid range torque in 2nd gear and letting it overrun down back to idle abt 3 or 4 times.

Accelerating briskly on open road in 2nd gear to 60% safe engine speed and letting it overrun back to creep about 5 times,

Accelerating in burst from roll of 2nd gear to abt 80% engine rpm and letting it overrun back to creep.

This act seats the rings nicely against the bore as the cross hatch from cyls gets pushed down and ring surface loses its rough edge.

How can i do this in Generator?

You need manual badly.
Generator works on specific rpm range due to governor and voltage controller.
If you remove both it will act as an engine and you can control the rpm. Example go karts.
But if done according to manual you wouldn't need that.

Ok... means if i adjust governer and rpm properly then there wont be any need for that... and also i can run generator on load right?

Am here with another question

Can i complete the break-in period on Gas or it is necessary to complete the break-in period on Petrol?

And also plz tell me from where can i get oil in large quantities like 8l or 12l instead of 4l bottles? (10w30) (Zic or other brand)

Prefer petrol. As cng runs hotter and dry.

How long? Currently have done 10-11 hrs on Petrol. Should i run it more? and when should be the first oil change? Mechanic recommended to run till it uses 7lts of petrol and then change the oil and switch to Gas. What do you say about that?

Yes change oil slightly before time. So any kind of metal dust left inside can be drained with oil.
Switch to cng after oil change but do use petrol time and again. Valves and valve seats don't like continuous cng usage.

crucial point....adjust tappets every 150hrs running to specs....not just haath andaza...

i do that .....more precisely ..head need redo now and then (valve lapping) along with carb service

if usage is alot...i prefer keeping spares along like a 2nd head ready to go../spark plug/ oil/ AVR/ etc

I do that .....more precisely ..head need redo now and then (valve lapping) along with carb service

Can you plz define "now and then" in terms of number of hours

if usage is alot...i prefer keeping spares along like a 2nd head ready to go../spark plug/ oil/ AVR/ etc

No usage is not alot only 5-6 hrs per day

Yes I have kept oil, spark plugs but not other stuff ...

I have bought Havoline® Formula SAE 10W-30 Mineral Oil After how many number of hrs do i have to change the oil, Manual suggests after every 100 hours i am a bit confused about the value...

So on Second oil change you can adjust the tappets.
