@Newton:
I haven't driven a Premio but surely i have driven 1.8 Allion which is actually a Premio. Both Allion and Premio are based on Corolla's platform.
First of all, Premio has loads of features which simple aren't in 2005-6 Civic or SE Saloon for that matter. Airbags to begin with (in case of Civic). Secondly, there is NO match between JDM imports and local cars (wether its Civic or Corolla). Everyone knows this, Cylestyne doesn't and that frankly doesn't matter either.
Third, Toyota Allion felt "more" stable then SE/05 Civic VTi, it was auto and felt faster than most local cars I have driven. It had much more direct, sharper and precise steering unlike local Civic and Corolla, for that matter.
It's comfort on bumps was NOT as good as 05 SE Saloon since local Corollas tend to give softer suspension setup to provide comfy ride on local roads at the expense of high speed handling. Interior was the best part. Although some parts including dashboard layout was upped from a Corolla, its finish and fitting was way better than any local car i've been in includeing new Civic.
The ONLY drawback, and quite a big one will be availability of spare parts and incase they are available, then their price will be a problem. If one keeps Premio/Allion in the 3-4 biggest cities of Pakistan, it won't be a problem. Everywhere else there is.
