Premio shock absorber

Salam,

I have automatic Premio 2005. The front shocks of my car has become hard. Went to some mechanics. One said they will refill the shocks. It will cost around 2000. Other advised to change it and told me that front shocks will cost me 9000.

So Pak Wheelers, please suggest me what to do. Should I refill it ? Or change the shocks ? If changing the shock then what are prices on new front shocks ? Price of original/Kabuli etc. zyada expensive na hu

Brother first rule of keeping a car; don't buy it if you cannot afford it. Can't fit a Toyota part to a Ferrari (On a lighter note). To be plain and simple, buy the original ones and buy both fronts. Anything local will screw other things in the suspension over time. No need to change rings unless they break. Its a premio so keep it a premio and enjoy its good ride. One shock may be between 8k-10K (I can be corrected on the cost). I will not advise to refill a shock. Shocks don't carry the load of your car, their purpose is to keep your tires attached to the road maximum amount of time and buffer out the vibrations in the chassis and control spring movements. Now you can guess why I advised you the above. After this its your choice. Its a heads-up. Be safe.

Thankyou brother for thorough reply. Hope it makes my ride comfortable. As now dashboard has become bit noisy. Also noise from windows side.

Never compromise on suspension. A friend of mine recently wanted to overhaul his swifts suspension. I advised him to go to authorised dealer and get it overhauled with all original. his ride is now brand new. the cost difference? original costed him around 95k while local parts + kabli would have costed him around 30k. Local parts in suspensions never last and they never give feeling of original car so do yourself a favor and spend some fortune if you are not gonna sell this car any sooner.
