When I bought it, only two brands were available and that too on METRO, nothing on Hyperstar. Homelite was Rs. 11,000 & Karcher Rs. 14,000 at METRO. And they were Rs. 6,500 and Rs. 9,000 respectively on Brandreth Rd.
Material quality wise they looked equivalent and having never used either of them, I went for Homelite being a better value for money as it appeared to me. And I'm happy with that decision. I use this machine myself (never allowed servants) over the weekends or when any vehicle needs a quick wash in between. Carelessness is a killer for any machine, how good it may be.
I'm not in a position to advice which one is best as I have not used any other machine.
While we are on this topic, there are a few things that can help these machines to work flawlessly and without damage and eventually servicing. These things are probably mentioned in user manuals as well.
Use of black garden hose for supply of tap water to the machine. The translucent pipes build up algae very quickly and thats a killer for these machines as it blocks water supply immediately.
Bleeding air our of machine before powering it on. That is, opening the water supply and keeping the trigger pressed till all the bubbles in line and machine are gone and flow is smooth.
After use and switching it OFF with water supply disconnected, bleed-off the built-up pressure in the pump by pressing the trigger.
