Price Check for Corolla 2010 Axle and Axle seal

AOA,today while getting Allighnment of my Car which is 2010 model 1.8Altis,I noticed that Left Side Axle Seal is leaking Near to ATF pan.

Please share the Axle price and its seal seprately.

Cars current ODO reading is around 275,000 km.Part can sourced from Sialkot,Islammabad,Gujranwala and Lahore.

Secondly please suggest should i change the Axle or just get the seal fixed?

Just change axle seal. Its rubber part which is usual wear n tear.
No need to change Axle.
However, leakage means less oil so when u open axle, tell them to service completely & thrown the old remaining oil
Fill it with new Toyota gear oil

Axle basically consists of 3 components - outer CV joint, axle rod and inner CV joint. From what you have described, it seems like your inner CV joint (the part which connects to the transmission) rubber boot is leaking the axle grease (greyish blackish color).

The axle will have to be removed and the rubber boot replaced after 'cleaning' out any dirt that might have entered it and filling in fresh grease. This should be relatively inexpensive and not a very complicated job. If the inner CV joint is damaged, then you will experience vibration when accelerating and may be a sound when you get on the throttle and let off it. In such a case the whole inner CV joint will have to be replaced which will of course be more expensive.

Thank you for your reply,New seal from open market costs around Rs150-300 where as Toyota is offering it for Rs2500,does it make any difference other than rate?

Secondly my car is having Automatic Transmission,is it necessary that Transmission fluid will have to flushed while opening the Axle for repair?

Overfilling of ATF,can it lead to Axle Seal leakage?

I think that the ATF doesn't have to do anything with the repairing of the Axle. For your comfort, go to the Toyota and ask the part no, and match that number in the open market. If the Toyota is giving you the quote of Rs. 2500 then in open market it should not cost you more than Rs 1000

Well I am not too familiar with Toyota parts prices, but you should generally try and get the best parts available. Dealership will always be more expense as compared to open market, even for the same quality parts.

Not necessary to flush ATF but, personally I won't like my ATF being drained in dirty pans and then kept in the open for many hours while the axle is being repaired. Hence, personally I would always like to put in new ATF.

ATF has no link with axle seal leakage.
