Dont wanna go off topic here but, looking at the add again, I couldnt help but think of my Lancer. It was also a 1.3 auto, petrol driven. The only difference from this car was that mine was cool silver, its rear bumper was re-painted (a rickshaw hit from behind), and it was only driven 51k kms. The spare wheel never saw the light of day (100% unused) rolling down windows was pretty much banned (to keep interior clean), not even a single bush in the suspension or even a single light bulb anywhere was changed,etc etc.

Gave great service but alas the accident this May. Having owned Hondas in parallel, IMO the 'expensive maintenance of Lancer' is just a hype.

That's a sad and a very tragic incident what happened with you. Yes you are right people have created rumours about maintenance of Lancer, it's around the same as that of Hondas. The Lancer we have is 2006 1.3 GLX manual Purplish Gray Mica color, very rare color, till date 76,000 driven purely on petrol and more than 50% of this mileage has been done on Motorway. The touchups include driving side door and fender which an a-hole showoff in a Mehran banged in my parked car and yesterday a moronic Cow-Rolla driver hit and bent the rear bumper. Other than that the car is totally genuine.

Someone just show me a 2005 Lancer driven for 350,000 or even 200,000 km & then we can surely discuss about maintenance or reliability.
Even a Santro or any Korean car works fine for 50,000 km that too on petrol. What is the big deal.
Maintenance is not about oil filter & air filter.

it all depends on how the car is kept.
people don't know how to maintain a Lancer, they used it like a khota Corolla.
and the mint condition ones speak themselves about how they have been kept, besides, a car can never or hardly touch a high mileage if there are multiple cars at home.

Agree. Which is why there is no reason to be concerned about 'expensive Lancer maintenance' before 200,000/350,000 odd kms.

I am in Islamabad and car is in Lahore. Tomorrow my friends will inspect it and then give their verdict. If it's a yes I'll go to Lahore with the pay order or the money
And yes Lancer is my first love then she became my girlfriend and then she became my wife
