Prius, Civic or Mercedes Benz? Suggestions please

Civic because of availability of spares cheap maintenance compared to benz and prius. And it is best saloon being produced locally. In local cars honda civic is at the top. JDM's are mostly repaired and have cheap resale and spare hassle too.

Yaar i am really confused. On one side merc has its class but age factor kicks in while on the other hand there is civic..newer but lacks quality.. I am confused..

Brother Civic has more than enough quality required for Pakistan.

Atleast you can buy all parts of Civic even if the whole car breaks down.

yeah, for a daily runner civic is good out of all those(since prius is already out), you already have two mercs, one is a classic so without counting that you have one merc that can be used as a dd. Another merc would be relying too much on the "Germans", I wouldn't

muddling with german cars is fun - if you have the right tools for it. namely a working SDS.

the cars requiring SDS to repair are more like a computer with wheels, doors etc etc. Once you get it and have access to a lift and have proper tools - NOTHING beats the reliability of MB.

The older ones, W124, W201, W140 are also pretty neat but require lengthy diagnostic procedures, the common factor with all models whether late or old is NEVER to use cheap counterfeit parts on them, unless you like to burn money.

For DD in Pakistan buy a standard corolla/civic etc, keep it in tip top shape by utilizing the local availability of all kinds of spares for them. This wont be possible with the JDM orphans that are flooding the Pakistani market (read as junk cars)

Someone said Corolla Axio on previous page , I think u can also find a clean Premio Previous shape and Allion Previous Shape Fresh cleared and unreg , I have seen some ads in used cars section for around 17 lacs
As for the suggestion , I am currently using a Civic 2010 Prosmatec for more than a year now , It is a great great car for our Pakistani roads and environment , Looks absolutely gorgeous with Bodykit and Nice set of Alloys , Interior is really awesome infact looks better than C180 s interior , quality and finishing isn’t bad either like new civics interior Car is durable and reliable , except for oil n filter changes / brake pads and reg service doesn’t require any other maintenance as such if u drive properly .. Acceleration is good too , ride is comfortable overall a good car for our Country .
Prius on the other hand is good too , more economical and feature rich with superior quality But again not as practical and safe as Civic .
Even I am confused too
I want to upgrade my car IN SHA ALLAH in Summer 2014 But really confused

What would u suggest ? Daily running is hardly 20 kms max 30 kms and mostly on main n smooth Roads . Someone said maintaining MB is very expensive for oil and oil filter change only u have to spend 9k Rupees :o

Rs 9000/- oil change? - that means you are buying an oil filter for Rs 800/- (fleece type) and spending Rs 8200/- on 8 litres of oil? what oil is this?

Even here in the USA Mobil1 0W40 9.5 litres costs USD 50/- and a filter is USD 8/- after generic discount - these are retail prices paid with sales tax.

The M1 0W40 is good for 16,000 kms minimum in a MB petrol engine with a sump size of 8 litres. Im planning to go the whole 16,000 miles on it (I had the oil tested and it still is pretty neat at 12,000 miles, I had to top up 2.5 litres)

16000 miles = 25600 kms

anyway - for Pakistani DD, get a generic market car - which super cheap body parts because it will get dinged and dented.

But I am really Tired after using so many Corollas and Civics now , need some change and really want to upgrade , for tht I think Premio 2008-2010 Imported is a good Option easy and cheap to maintain with superior quality comfort and features

6 Liters of oil = 7550 Rs
Oil filter = 1100 Rs

Maintaining a mercedes here is not easy, when ever you buy a merc always get it check it thoroughly. People here are very clever. I would personally suggest that dont go for a C class, Yesterday I had a test run and I really didn't like it. I would suggest you go for a premio, I hv driven it, its an amazing car.. get it, u wont regret..

hahaha actually my family loves mercedes too much. I test drove a C class and I just didn't like it. It felt like just another japanese car. So C class is ruled out too..

I recently made a switch to MB w203 2005, from civic 2010. Awesome car. Fuel consumption is almost similar to civic. And maintenance is not as expensive as commonly assumed. U just have to get hold of the right person.

Tht was giving very false feeling Like it has only 1 gear from 0-180 , if thts because of CVT transmission then I havnt seen anything like tht in other CVT transmission cars . can u pls explain as u have driven it ? Other than tht its an amazing car no doubt abt tht , Sorry for going off topic pls dnt mind

Bro in CVT its common, I hv driven prius, premio, even honda steermatic and CVT transmission, no RPM drops as far as I hv experienced.

^^ thanks for the reply bro , lolz I have driven Passo previous shape and Nissan Ad Van new shape Both are without Tachometer may be thts y , but I always felt the gear change , it wasn't jerky infact really really smooth as compared to Civics and Corolla Altis Cruisetronic ( I am not sure if its CVT or not ) but I always felt the gear change by engine noise . anyway thanks

Anytime bro any time.. And don't worry when I frst drove a CVT i was surprised too. CVT is a bit sluggish but its smooth as silk. And local corolla, civic and city have normal tranny so they gv off jerks.
