Prius Engine Oil, Gear Oil

AOA! I own a 3rd gen prius which i used to pour 0W 20 engines oil. Now it has completed 100,000 kms. So should i switch to 5W20 or 30?
Also I’ve heard that the coolant & Gear oil needs to be changed after 140.000 kms. Is it right. Kindly give ur advice.

If you aren't facing any issues with 0w-20, I would suggest to continue using it.

Hmmm... Regarding gear oil for Prius, I think, 140,000 Kms is a very high no. It may be changed at max. 60-80K Kms. Regarding coolant, yes you may change it right now (i.e. you may change both coolant and gear oil).

First of all if you qre not facing any problem then dont do anything in your car as it can effect its consumption.
1lac km is nothing for these cars.
My current cars including hybrid axio 15 model and aqua 15 model both are 1lac + driven and i am not facing any problem with 0w20.

Thanks brother. I would continue using 0w20. Also i had the gear oil changed at 70k kms before so I think I should change it on 140 kms right?

Yes. If it had been changed at 70K Kms, you can safely change it at 140K Odo reading, however, its always better to follow owners / users manual regarding change intervals.

Toyota CVT WS is recommended in all Prius and Aqua models.

Personally, I change it every 40,000 kms.

I much rather spend PKR 6,500 every couple of years rather than compromise my transmissions performanceo or stand losing it altogether.

I dont believe there is any fluid in these cars meant to run a lifetime.

Asslamoalikum pakwheelers ,
want to know your suggestions specifically according to my car's current condition.
I have 2nd gen prius with 290k milage alhumdulliah without any issues and its time for its 2nd oil change within my ownership,i did a stupidity on my 1st oil change of using 20w-50 on a confident suggestion of shell pump oil change employee he reasoned it to highmilage of the car but i felt some changes like slight heavy pedal, slight jerk and decrease in average to 15km/ltr on ac in city but my feather foot surely didnt let it harm the engine.Now after doing 2000 km with this oil, i learned the oil recommendation for prius is 0w-20 and i regret what i did to poor car. I think with this milage a bit more thick oil would be alright but surely not 20w-50 thats too much.Now without a finalized desicion i dont even want to drive my car and i want to go straight for a oil change. what oil, experts and experienced people suggest me to with weather condition of karachi and car's milage.

Wa Alaikum Salam. As you have said that engine health is great with odo 290K, I would recommend you to go for 5w-30 only, and in 5w-30, Total Quartz 9000 Future series 5w-30 is one of the finest options. Its best value for money and meets all latest API / ILSAC criteria.

Brother thanks for your suggestion,i would surely go for it, any other options are welcomed. well i made a post about it but no one replied over there after several hours so i had to post it here.
