Prius PHV 2018 Charging at Home

I just imported a toyota PHV 2018 Model from Japan. I just want to know that can I charge the vehicle with the supplied cable at home?. I am just worried about the 220 Volts issue in Pakistan and 100 volts in Japan. Can anyone guide from their experience.

It's a 110 V charge converter in the system so take a step down voltage converter of 3000watts and then charge it with it.

Remember donot attempt the 220 V charge as the AC to DC converter is 110 V

a plain simple step down transformer from 220 - to - 110 VAC which can handle upto 3500 watts.
visit pindi saddar bazar area selling home appliances and check for availability of such transformer.

@rajaatta domestic wall outlets in Japan are all AC unless specifically designed (DC hazard sign posted) . The vehicle has inbuilt ac to dc converter for battery charging.

Yes most of them are AC to DC converters I had faced a similar situation with 2012 phv Prius where owner had plugged in the power adapter in wall socket with 220 and inverter along with bms was fried.

Another case of same happens with a UK varient phv Prius same happens and the soloition was a chopper based 3500w step down voltage converter.

Stabilizer based converter is useless and it get hot frequently so chopper based converter is best.

I own a Prius PHV 1st generation 2014 model, imported from japan. Charger which came with the car supports both 110v and 220v. No need of any converter or step down transformer.

Yea, I checked it now. Its charging perfectly with the provided cable.

@pwuser161881814856. Dear Khurshaid Marwat, I also recently got Prius phv 2018 Japanese version.
What I could understand from your last post, is that there's no need of any 110 to 220 V converter. The Toyota Prius original charger works both with 110 and 220 V? Pl correct me if I'm wrong.
Also I've got 2 different chargers Blue coloured with long wire and an Orange coloured with short wire. Anyone knows the difference?
