Problem with k790i

hey guyz! i heard the problem with k790i that it software gets corrupt and then u have to buy the software from net and install it in ur cell so if any pakwheeler using it and having this problem so please let me know...

Dear there is a risk of virus attack for every phone which has Bluetooth & capable of running java files. there is no specific risk for Sony Ericsson phones.
But if ur phone get infected, u can easily replace the software from any service centre @ Rs. 300/- to Rs. 500/-.

Corruption of software does not mean that ur phone will stop working. In case of corruption, some features might not work. my phone is also infected now a days and i am unable to open GAMES and APPLICATIONS folder. rest is working fine.
So dont worry about it.

i am a great fan of SOnyericsson. i used the following sets in the past.
K-500
K-300
K-700
W-810
W-800
K-750
and now having K-810i.
No doubt pictures and sound quality of SE phones are unmatchable.

W810 was fine. i have not experienced any problem.
range of 12000/-........ if u can afford try K770i. great phone.
and u can have used K810i in this range.

I never faced any such issue with my k790 and i am an old time sony ericsson fan. Have used a lot of them

I've used a 790i in the past. The software did give me some trouble once, the phone would restart whenever i tried accessing the address book. A simple software update download from SE's website solved it for me. Even if your phone's software gives you trouble you can always reflash it at home, no need to pay 500 rupees to shopkeepers to do it for you. Simply download the Software updater from the official website (or install it off the bundled CD), get the lastest software version from the website and just follow the on-screen instructions and you're good to go.

yes your are right. one can upgrade the software at home. i have also upgraded my K810s software from SE website.

My K850i has Just DIED this BROD(Blue Ring Of Death) has happend to it:( its only 2 Months old, this is the first time iv encountered a problem with a SE Phone...

this is what happend in other words

This is a distressing thing that happens to owners of the SE K850i.

It's characterised by the refusal of the phone to boot up; the keyboard backlight may or may not come on & the blue ring around the camera lense illuminates, and then, and then....... nothing.......it just sort of sits there doing ........nothing.

Dump it and buy a Nokia. thats what you should do.

Well don't know your budget. If you are satisfied with 2MP cam and a disco typo person then 5310 is a very good choice. Its cheaper than W880i and offers more features than it. (e.g in W880i, there's no radio. rofl no radio in a music set :D:D)
