I got my Gli 2010 on 29 Jan .. I m enjoying the ride , no problems at all .. and bdw guys I love its brakes ...got original Alloy RIms of ALTIS with DUNLOP SP Sport 9000 , so no issues regarding rd grip etc..but 1300 cc is a 1300 cc , dont expect a heavy car... rest ,, enjoying it so far Alhamdollilah

I wish i can get info on these.
I got my xli on saturday Toyota Islamabad Motors.
From where in Islamabad/Pindi i can get wooden interior?
From where i can put on auto mirrors as in GLI? plus auto trunk?
Pleae advise from where i can get it done in a reasonable price.

Corolla 2009 xli/gli owners kindly elaborate petrol consumption of the car personal readings in city and long routes till now. do you think the models didnt came with factory fitted cng bcz it was not feasable like ecu might have issues etc ..What are ur experiances if any body has installed cng in the car...

GLI does almost 10 km/liter in city. I have noticed that newer engines don't give a good average but after some 1K kilometers, the average starts getting good. On long route it gives around 13 km/liter (these are my personal experiences). but it also depends on the driving style. My driving style is somewhat mixed. Sometimes I drive very softly and sometimes I drive harshly like shifting above 5k rpm.

@all XLi/GLi owners,

some owners say here that XLi/Gli can't go beyond 160 km/hr. well I need to know how much true it is? I pushed my car easily to 160 km/hr but the road conditions didn't allow me to go further and I have to apply brakes. But I was feeling that it can easily go beyond 160 km/hr. please share your experience.

Interesting Info

Just bought Gli & Altis 1.8 S/R Cruisetronic and Gli seems to have better drive and feels more smooth!!

Btw got wooden panels of GLI from Toyota for 10.5k and got Altis sideskirts, door mouldings , paint(for door handles & mud flaps) for 16k

thanks rizi_85. what about cng. would it be a issue with the ecu. ive heard that this shape is being sold in some countries with factory fitted cng but their ecu's are specially programmed for cng ie ecu will control the amount of flow of gas something like that.. but our model doesnt comes with cng so if we use after market cng kits like landirenzo efi would it be a trouble..n was there same ecu installed in previous shape because ive seen many of those xli n gli running fine on cng.

anyone know whats the fuel consumption of the 2.0D ?? i know the average of the old shape 2D, but what about the new one? how much has it been affected by the bigger size of the car??

well we checked it last month
956km/tank
we filled tank at behra went to murre mujhe ki in nathiagali, gora gali and went abbotabad wahan se thandiani gaye
8 peoples were in car [kids]
it did awesome even above my expectations

if that is true - than it is AMAZING! especially since your drive was entirely in hilly area.

my 2005 model 2.0D gives me 17.5 km on motorway at 120km/hr constant speed.

how is the pickup compared to the old shape 2D?? any issue of engine noise coming inside the car??

well this model pick is better than old 05 saloon but noise thora ziyada hai on 3rd and 4th gear at 5th its quite calm

I got a GLI 2010
1,Electric steerin seems to be a problem for me,as brakes are applied at high speed,it moves to one side ,Its either due to steerin or brakes God know but its just ridiclous
2.Gear shifting is quite hard ,neither is the gearbox at comfortable position
3.overall driver seat regardin gearbox and front view is just imperfect:(:(

Well... To give any comments, I had to read the complete thread from beginning till end... And I have reached to a conclusion...

I owned a GLi 2009. Recently sold it just because of Black Colour. The problems which have been mentioned here are really new for me after driving my car for round about 8 months. The only problem I faced was the fading of panel which I changed for 7k only from Rwp. The drive is awesome even on CNG (but for that u need to get it installed from an expert along with Advancer), although u cant compare it with CiViC Reborn...

The brakes were very good and ABS saved me a couple of times from crashing into other cars/people going on road. Though I am more inclined towards Honda but I really liked this model of Toyota. Though it still needs improvement but I still prefer Corolla over other 1300 cc cars. I have never drove Altis so I cant compare it with other 1800cc cars.

I never experienced Axle problems. Drive is smooth and good. No steering problems, rather smooth and good. The only thing is that its not as tough as the previous models but still tougher than CiViC...

I dont grade XLi good because of very limited options. No offence please. But this was how i feel.

956 KM/Tank..I think this mileage figure is not correct. Even Toyota claims that Corolla gives you 800Kms per tank so adding further 156 KMs is not possible, i suppose.
