i have a 2010 gli......10k done........i have 2006 gli as well so i can well compare the 2......the new 1 has a better road grip no doubt abt it and the breaking is far far better.......aceleration wise this ones is better and also the milegae is better then the previous 1 .......as mentioned above the eps is an issue.......the door panels, though m taking care of them still there are scratch marks on them and i believe soon they will start fading aswell.Dashboard, i likes the previous 1.There was a weird sound comming frm the engine....i showed it to the dealer and he was like yeh normal baat hai.....n one of the sales manager he ssaid"cars assembled after april have this issue but its all ok not a big deal"........my uncle has new gli b4 april and there was no noise from it......i again went to them and after so many references they changed me the compressor and the sound is gone now.....i dont knw if any1 else has this issue or not coz they should me 3-4 new cars in the showroom and the same sound was comming frm them as well.....

I have Gli 2010 with only 3k on the odo. I am facing the same problem as mentioned by Rizwan1985 i.e. noise of compressor. I went to the dealer & he said its manufacturing fault & can't do anything about it.
Second problem I am facing is knocking at low RPMs in 1st and 2nd gear.
Third is the engine noise in the cockpet which compared to any other car is high.

.i dont knw if any1 else has this issue or not coz they should me 3-4 new cars in the showroom and the same sound was comming frm them as well.....

How to check this sound in showroom? Thanks in advance.

Yes u r right they said me the same thing..........get the compressor changed....it will be gone then coz thats the only solution to this issue......as now my car is fine no noise of the compressor..........the story they say behind this is tht they had a research survey and ppl mostly want better mileage rather then these noise issue....and according to them they had made the compressor so tht it can provide better mileage and the only drawback is the noise........well i dont have any knocking issue though...

ask them to start the car and while u press the pedal in neutral gear a wierd soung ghaaaooon ghaaaoooon type comes frm the compressor......

i too own a 2.od SR with 3.5k on dial and its gud althogh i was not satisfied at begining as compared to previous 2.0d especially the pick up issue + others but now i'm satisfied alot and its a gud one.....
for the silver door panel owners i wuld like to suggest an idea...."y dnt u get GLOSS paint on it????"

i have altis and i have noticed some thing that while the a/c is on the car is less responsive it was mentioned earlier but i did not understand but now the car is slow to respond when press pedal...

Also if some one has noticed if i am going on constant speed lets say 40 km/hr with a/c i feel minute very minute jerks its hard to define it gives impression as if car lost power for milli second and recovered .passengers donot feel it but as driver u can note it ..any idea what it could be?

I have a altis cruisetronic and havn't experienced such problems. With A/C on yes the car becomes slower but that is the case with every car out there as A/C puts load on the car.

MINE is same and i agree there is shift in response with a/c on but some how i am unable to get smooth ride with a/c at lower speeds i am very curious drivers and some times i find out problems with car which mechanics find difficult to find out :)..
However previously i had 1.6 gli indus1995 and then se saloon 2004 they are 1.6 litre cars and when ever i floored the pedal i got instantaneous response with this car the response does come but not as instantaneously although it reaches 160 easily and a lot better road grip than the previous ones . i will get it checked by walton motor guys....

2) The driver and passenger side doors make noise.The noise seems to go away in huigher temperatur.
3) Underpowered on steep roads and does frequent knocking when shifting gears specially from first to second
4) Under ideal light foot driving in city it doesn't give more then 9.5 to 10km/L even though the digital display shows 11km/L
5) The driver side is quite congested with little leg room

this is also the problem with the old model and its every difficult to accelerate fast with kocking

Best looking car with great price and gas mileage. It's EPS or electronic power steering sucks. No feel of the road and waves like a Titanic on highway when cross winds. Other then that i don't have any complaints (y)

doesn't eps make the steering hard on high speeds?

Well i frequently travel on motorway and have found no problem wit steering rather its the best thing in this car:)......and though i am against speeding but with this car (altis auto) i cannot help it .......it cruises to 160 at rpm just touching 4 .... no engine noise and excellent road grip ......in my previous cars i use to get scare at 140....but with this car u feel u r in total control...one more thing cruise control its blessing for those who travel frequently on motor way

It is because of DBW. All new cars have this technology whereby throttle response is managed electronically and not mechanically hence the delay in acceleration. This delay is also in civic. No need to worry here.

Yours is a manual or automatic?

1)Reset the information meter/cluster and you will get more accurate readings. Most people dont realize that this meter can be reset and it should be done at each tank re-fill
2)Close the windows and noise should disappear. Have you installed any aftermarket speakers/security system? Maybe that is causing the noise. If not get it checked/fixed. No such problems in my GLI
3)Disagreed. No knocking problems at all in my GLI even when driving at 20 in third gear. Change you petrol pump and use some high octane for a change.
4)Fuel average varies from driver to driver and according to conditions. Cant really comment
5)Agreed. A serious design flaw in all new corollas

Agreed. The car easily touches 160 and the best thing is you dont even feel it. However I was amazed to see the car struggle past 160 even though I was alone in the car on motorway and was using Hi-octane and Mobil 1 engine oil

May be you are right about this DBW thing .Bro mine is Altis SR cruisetonic. I did not try going above 160 i do not use hi octane and use toyota genuine oil btw we were two person in car and with a/c .....but the way it goes to 160 i thought it will keep on going like this till at least 180 .....i think hi ocatne has much higher octane number than required if u want to use try mixing two fuels ....i do not know about this model but in indus shape gli i was told by toyota guys to mix fuel cause pure hi ocatne had higher octane number than required .....e...

Fuel average in city is around 7.5 to 8 with repeated short trips

On highway at speed of around 110 it gives 14+ but above 120 avergae drops to about 10km/litre.....

1) I reset the meter on each fuel refill.Fuel tank capacity is arund 55 litres.The meter shows the average of 11km/l in city which should result in around 600km per cylinder in city but actually it gives no more than 525km including the fuel reserve.
2) I have not done any modification.Its like a rattling sound.It goes away at afternoon time when temperature is higher.I think it has something to do with door plastic expanding and shrinking with heat.But its very annoying.I will check it with my toyota dealer on my 5000m checkup.
3) I will check out the knocking problem by changing the petrol pump.
