The power is quite phenomenal as you can imagine, but the torque is what is just undescribable... we have a 1UZ-FE in the sister Concordia '40 with just about the same mechanicals. And while its quite comparable in many respects and whoops of fun to drive (particularly in a small car/4x4 like the FJ40) it is somewhat slower ... and by an interesting margin.
I have never actually experienced the 2JZGTE or a Supra, but my impression that with a 2JZ on a solid axle 4x4 application, the overall pull (leaving aside the different feel of each engin) would be close to the 1UZ in the 0-60 mph range. Beyond 60 the 1UZ may possible out-displace a 2JZGTE with stock turbos owing to its more consistent power band. I may be off here.... but the 2UZ would definately cream both buggers hands down, in any appllication as long as things stay stock i.e. Boosting and beefing is where both the JZs and the 1UZ seem to have no limits !
