Hey guys so i finally visited Shershah today...
After complete measurements and the technical support of my mechanic, I think i am going with the Toyota 3S-FE Engine. The complete setup including the motor, gearbox (manual 5 speed), ECU, wiring, compressor, fuel pump, alternator, etc... is costing me around 85k.
Engine is imported from japan, unused in Pakistan.

Secondly, I am planning to install a cressida rear differential and front suspension setup.

Suggestions, comments?

wow sounds cool, just one thing i believe u've to alter its engine mounting
same goes for front suspension...its just my idea may b im wrong...

3s fe is a good engine....which gear box u r going to use to couple it with ???? make sure about the ecu thing and try to get the original uncut harness....else u will b in trouble....cressida rear wheel differential is also okie to be used with it .....but price is quite high...it was supposed to be around 50k .....

I have bought amazingly clean 3S-FE (with Compressor, ECU & uncut wiring) for 55k... after giving my old Diesel Engine it costed me 37K... I remember the shopkeeper asked 65k... Do some reccy before buying the engine..
BTW there are 2 type of 3S available, one with distributor and other one with some coils thingy, the latter one is a bit cheap..

Why don't you consider 1G? I really wanted it engine but was not available at that time...

i'd stick to it being a datsun if i were you rather than putting in toyota parts... Good Luck!!

Engine & transmission must be coming out from a Camry or an MR2, coupling it to a Cressida differential may not be a right choice. what Diff ratio you are looking for to couple with that transmission. (do post back the transmission model as well please)

sorry fellows.... i have not been loyal to my thread recently.... many apologies from my side. I have been terribly busy recently! Joined Indus Motors as a project engineer about 4 months ago and been crazy with the schedule.

Lots of pictures coming soon...

A brief update on the work that has been already done on the car:

1) Denting/bodywork completed.
Brand new front end (fenders and hood)
Chassis Strengthened
New floor sheets
Front Structure
Shell body reworked
Modified rear for new lights
2) Engine bay painted ---> Sunset orange is the color (A17 shade from Nissan - Muarrano, 350 z etc)
3) Front Seats bought + new seatbelt assy
4) Rear Lights (circular with LED'S) two each sides
5) Side mirrors
6) Momo Italy (Indy series) steering
7) 3S Engine bought + 5 speed M/T RWD trannny.. Car now undergoing transplant

Will post pics and details tomorrow...do excuse me for the unnecessary delay!

best of luck, but why 120 Y ??? u have limited option in terms of engine due to small engin bay and if u really mean a muscle car then i guess this is not the car for , 3s are not meant for racing and all that i belive its a high torque engine i have seen the performance too of this engine in 120Y, ifi as at ur place i woould rather go for gli 1600 or 1800 , 7a, if the prices are same gor for this one , thee are just personal experience i dont question ur choice, if it was celica u could have easily put 1j,sr20,1uzfe,2j

No offence to anyone, but I really like to see oldies restored to original condition, preferably with original parts. Converting a 35 year old Japanese car to become a muscle car in my opinion is not something I would do. But its your car, your choice so best of luck!
