i can't believe i missed this thread.... at first i thought you were insane to try and rebuild this car,... but then i took a look in the mirror. usually when someone takes on such a project they are either on to something special or insane,... usually both.

i look forward to see what you can do with this W115.

it would be wise to use an arc welder at this place - if you heat weld it you may stretch the floor and also induce weak spots - What I do is to caulk and rivet first - then weld it in slowly - about 4 inches at a time, about 05 minutes time interval between each.

this is partly the reason we see most 114 and 115 mercs with sagging behinds
