The P/S oil pressure switch signals the ECU when the pressure is high which in turn raise the RPM to cope with the situation.

I was not satisfied with the new steering gearbox which came in a package of the suspension set. The steering was much softer with the older gearbox before the start of restoration work but by that time i was using tires of size 175 with a profile of 55. Now I am using 225 with a profile of 40, just replaced with 215 with a profile of 40 because there were too many punctures in them (these new tires are also used but rather in good condition). Tires in the back are still of 225 size.
The steering effort is little above than normal in my opinion may be it is due to the enormous size of the tires.

Nevertheless, I bought the following new steering gear box assembly, this is the best I could have ever found.
Please note the P/S (power steering) oil pressure switch on the high pressure line coming out from the pump.

Thanks brother, you also got a lot of stuff from a half-cut. You may know it better than me how clean and well preserved things with all bits and pieces are present in there, its a restorer best bit to get hands on one.

You are welcome brother. I have been buying parts from this particular shopkeeper so the prices are reasonable.

people use 225 in their cl7/cl9 mostly , the max you should opt for is 205 with an aspect ratio of 45 so you have a better side wall and
it would definitely increase the life of your newly replaced suspension more than twice

Sounds reasonable, but yes 225 too wide ideal for eg is 205/55/15-16"

Yes they are, most mechanical parts are interchangeable with the later model civic(s) till 2000, so virtually the parts production years bracket widens up to 10 years. Only problem is with the optional body parts apart from the few normal one as well, they are becoming scarce day by day.

With the current setup I haven't faced the problem of tires scraping the sidewalls so far even at full turn of the wheel. This may be because in the front I have replaced the fenders with the 3dr civic as they are wider and open than the sedan and at the back in the suspension the lower control arms are taken from the 3dr civic to mate with the dampers from a 3dr or ek civic as a result (might be) the back wheels have attained a negative camber which is enough to keep the tires away from the sidewalls.
However I have noted your point I will opt for 205 as and when I managed to buy brand new tires, for the time being I am using used tires.
