Hey Everyone,

We're participating in a Global event by the name of Formula Student in July 13. The idea is to make your own Formula Student car and race if off in UK on the Silverstone Formula 1 Track against hardcore competition from other university teams of the world. The concept is fairly new in Pakistan but still quite a promising one. Not many institutes actually participate in this venture, apart from NED and NUST uptil now.

We participated last year as the only Formula team from Pakistan to ever be there which ofcourse gives us a little bragging rights. We're actually very much enthusiastic to participate for the second year in the row since now we know what the competition holds for us.

For this reason, we'd welcome any suggestions from PakWheels' Members who can help us around the project in terms of knowledge, funding or what so ever. We want to represent Pakistan with the best formula vehicle out there.

Best of luck with your project. Why dont you contact Shell or any other energy sector company to fund you.

We are trying our best, but if anyone knows an insider of the project that'd really help. Usual proposals can be left to dust otherwise.

The design is going to be something typical of Formula Student cars, though we just hope we can get the manufacturing right this time. Last time bohat issues hogai thay!

good luck mates well i usually never see any uni in PK interested in cars at all
well this time i think u gota go for some real driveline instead of chains and bike parts this time
rear assembly of 4 stroke ricshaw with OHV engine is better then chain drive at least reliable then chain scene plus electrical hybrid scene at small scale like Charge as u go but this needs funds

Yup. We shall be considering all this. Also alot more since we already ordered alot of inventory last year. We do have a few good things at hand. Let's hope it all works out.. But still Funding is a major concern.

Please provide design regulations and specifications on your previous car. If the regulations are the same as last year, and your car was fairly descent, maybe better to tweak that rather than starting from scratch. Is this similar to formula SAE?

Yup. It is! Also, the design was decent enough though we still feel we need a new look and hence a new Chasis.

if i remember correctly you used a cbr600 engine last time. ran into ecu issues? I cant help with the funding unfortunately. other than that i can help. i can come to uni friday evening after 6pm. tell me what you have done so far and we can pick up from there.

Well if it handled well, why the new chassis, you can alter the looks otherwise?

Please provide design regulations for this event, also, the specifications from your old car. Do you guys have a dyno?
