Since two layers of lining were required, the first sheet was used as a pattern to cut the second one

... then a sheet of foam was cut to match the size of the pattern

... Samad Bond was applied on top of first sheet of Namda

Foam sheet was placed on top of the namda sheet with Samad Bond on ..

... extra foam was cut off ..

The second namda sheet was placed on top of the foam, and cut according to size ... the cutting continued several times in order to achieve a precise measure

Samad Bond was applied to the second namda sheet

.. and then pressed on top of the foam

At this stage, the photo of Brother Assim's car was carefully followed to cut the loop for the trunk lid lock assembly. .

Now it was time for sewing the edges of the liner. Strips were cut from a sheet of grey artificial leather. Grey colour was selected as it matched the body colour and created good contrast with the colour of the namda sheet

... the strips were sewn together to form a long strip, enough to cover the periphery of the trunk lid liner

... the strip was then sewn onto the edge of the liner. I requested him to follow straight lines while stitching

The edge of the sewn artificial leather strip was then stretched onto the other side of the liner

... and then the front side of the liner edge was stitched once again to get a tight cover

Voila...!!!

The insulation liner is ready for installation

Now it was time to install the insulation liner

Grey coloured connectors were used to create contrast with liner, and to match the body colour of Laadli

It was the first time for him to make this insulation liner, and I must say he did the job well. The best thing about this person is that he listens to the customers ... this is a trait absent in most of the mechanics in the twin cities.

The 718s were installed by the installer at HyperStar Lahore in June last year. As far as I recall, no cutting was involved. As you must have seen the photo, the speakers have been installed UNDER the metal sheet.

Couple of months ago, when I got the Pioneer Components installed, the installer in Blue Area, Islamabad suggested that the 718s should be re-installed on top of the metal sheet. That means that it would involved some cutting.

Thats what i was noticing, the fitting was extra clean, and the nuts were fitted from under, Where as what ive see is that nuts are usualy installed from above.

Are you happy with the sound quality? I have 718s in my Vitz, which im planing to swap, The sound quality in Corolla FF speakers is pathetic. But im not at all willing to cut the metal sheet, (altho cuting doesnt matter, but i just dont wanto)

I have similar views as yours ... no cutting, no bending is the rule for me!!!

The installer would surely insist on putting the speakers on the top .. but you are the customer, and the customer is always right .. if he follows your instructions, fine, otherwise you should find another installer.

So far, I have not let anyone do any cutting or bending in my Laadli ... The only close thing was that rivets had to be opened to uninstall the front door speakers in order to install the Pioneer components.

Thank you very much for your comments, and special thanks for liking the rims. Their selection took five days in Lahore .. I just wanted wheels which would complement the image of the car that I had in mind. As you can see, Laadli seems to have lowered rear suspension .. while it is not. So, if you see Laadli side-by-side with another car, it would look much broader and lower than the other one. This kind of image required something roundish in rims .. so finally I could find them at Saif Traders, Faisal Town, Lahore
