The CNG kit was installed by Toyota Islamabad Motors in late July or August last year.
In the beginning, it was really a painful experience. I regretted the decision for getting CNG installed in the car. The car gave a lot of trouble. You can imagine what effect it had on my mind after having spent so much money on a brand new car. The problem increased whenever I traveled to Lahore. The gas in Lahore is different from Islamabad. Islamabad is supplied with natural gas from Gujjar Khan wells, which have the highest BTU value in Pakistan. After every visit to Lahore, I had to go to CNG mechanic at Toyota Islamabad Motors.
When it happened several times, I shouted at the Advisor in Toyota Motors for having installed rubbish in my car. That worked. The car was checked on computer diagnostics, and the problem was diagnosed. It was a faulty emulator. They replaced the emulator and since then it has been working very fine.
Among the cars that I have had so far, Laadli gives the best mileage. The 55 litre cylinder lasts for 150-160 km in Islamabad city driving. In summer, with AC on, I get the CNG filled from Islamabad and it runs for 230 km on N5. I cross Gujranwala when the red light comes on.
In winter, with AC off, I don't have to get CNG all the way to Lahore. That means it is giving mileage of 290km+ on a full cylinder.
The above averages are for CNG filled in Islamabad. The mileage drops significantly when it is filled in Lahore or on the way back to Islamabad.
Another important point .... Toyota Islamabad Motors first installed a Toyota Emulator. After I shouted at them, they installed Emulator meant for Honda. It has been working perfect.
My car has no issues regarding pickup .. it runs like a charm on CNG .. MashaAllah :)(H)
