sir ji dua kar petrol par set ho jae. Ajj bhai aa raha ha from mzd phir kal se progress teez ho jae gi. Ur right about the top speed. Actually me iss ko ziada offroad ke liay hi rakho ga so dont need the top speed.

very nice jeep indeed.If u have orignal the performance is good, but just keep in mind about the prices of fuel.

I think u should go for a diesel engine.

Thanks for ur nice comments. Which engine do you recommend in diesel? I went to mithhu khan ahaata and found that the prices were too high, even 2c was for 60k. What do you think if I overhaul this engine and convert it to CNG? Please advice about the approximate overhaul cost.

Sir If you are planing to run this Jeep on CNG, then I dont think that the genuine engine will run smothly.
In case U want to keep the original engine Run it on Petrol(I know now a days it is nearly imposible to do that).
Do not consider a 2C engine at all, and some one is trying to pull a fast one on you as U can get an excelent 2C which might not even require rings around 35K to 40K max. But I will recomend a 3C Turbo Unit. The price is the same as 2C but it is 2.2 and performs better in the mid sized jeep as urz.
But now diesel is selling for 71 Rs a Liter so it is not a viable option.
So the only Viable option is CNG. For CNG I will sugest U go for a Toyota 2Y or 3Y Petrol 2.0, 2.2 Liter respectively.

Dont experiment wid the original engine. It will not deliver reliability. Rest is upto U.

Thanks sir for the valuable reply. I'm also thinking the diesel price factor you mentioned. But someone told me that original engine runs smooth on cng. Could you please tell me the estimated price of 2Y or 3Y engine mention with 4x4 gear box.

the overhaul of original engine didnt work out. now we r going for 3ct with the orignal gearbox as recomended by jeep gurus of pakwheels. will keep posting the details. U r most welcome to visit any time.............

taimoor bhaee ye kia bat hui??? we have been planning to restore the original engine when we start our own project, ab ap ne dara dia hai... what problems have you faced?? was the engine beyond repair or was the time+cost factor going too high?

bhaee no need to get scared............ in my case the engine had a broken crank and rusted block so instead of going for very extensive repair I went for the 3ct with the orignal 3 spped transmission which combination had been tested by some pakwheelers.. so no need to get scared, all the parts of petrol engine are readily available at taj autos.

Hi all, sorry for being absent for long time. Actually my father had heart problem and he has to go through angio plasty so was away from the project.

Update is that the suspension is all overhauled with new bearing and seals etc. And now the jeep has been given for engine fitting which is now under process and will finish it in a day or so.

A problem arised in fitting that the engine could not be coupled in original gear position. Which was solved by moving the gear a bit forward (arounf 3inches). Now i'm attaching the pics (sorry for bad quality as I was using my cell phones camera)
