I totally agree with the term assasination because he barely left anything original under the hood, not even the engine subframe.
My goal is to bring it to original specifications using original parts wherever possible, so far its been totally original. Is it a hassle finding the parts? Yes indeed, you have to go back and forth amongst the same people because their mood dictates pretty much everything. Plus theres trouble if there is competition, as in another buyer who's willing to pay more. And i've had instances where the shopkeeper/stockists have informed me that people are willing to buy out their entire stock, just to get it off the market and reserve it for their great grandsons. Now thats simply ridiculous, the parts available are already scarce and people like these dont help, AT ALL.
So after a year of looking around and going here and there, including trips to rawalpindi in the summer heat i have managed to collect all the necessary parts. I have imported an entire car's worth of parts which should have reached by the time i get back and start working on it again.
Thankyou for the compliments, appreciation adds enthusiasm and makes me feel less of a maniac for taking this project on.
however, if i was in a similar situation after this project i wouldnt go for it unless it was a very rare car or one that particularlu catches my fancy. I would advise others to think hard and long before diving into a project in need of such extensive reconstruction.
