As a thumb rule, the original good condition car is always better than getting a cheaper car and getting it repaired. But as the difference in price is big, and due to budget constraint one might consider going for the second best option i.e. a car with potential of improvement.
In this case, we searched for weeks to find some good car first which we could use directly as daily runner. But as I mentioned we had no luck in finding such car so I recommended to go for this car as it was having better basics as compared to the other cars we came across.
