Final rubbing is underway. Don’t worry about the panel gaps they’ll br made perfect.

Tomorrow Inshallah car will be sent to the booth for the paint.

I’ve a question know, the painter said that there is no need of rub/compound after the booth’s paint , he said rubbing/compound is needed only when paint is done outside of booth, is his statement right?

Why did you assemble the car if it was to go into a paint booth and you already had it stripped down? - It would have been easier to roll it on dolly casters, its a very lightweight car.

hainnnnn , @Xulfiqar bhai , painters don’t even what dolly casters are , car right now is on it’s own engine power rn , and that’s how cars are painted here in BhAtTi here.

I painted my cars in Pakistan while rolling them on dolly casters I made myself into paint booths. Relying 100% on these guys is a waste of time. To get a job done - you need to understand how to get a job done first, meaning you need to know how to job is done step by step.

Relying on being wallet holder and waiting for finish product is a fools exercise.

Dolly casters in ustaad language should be trolley wheels.

You have worked on the dashboard in side the car. I was also concerned about the same. Why was it painted inside the car.

The car could have been sprayed inside/out in the booth before putting things back together.

Final installation could have been done before final rubbing polish.

Also delay, final rubbing polish until your car is fully functional and mechanically fit.

Because all kinds of people will put hands on your car might cause minor scratches. Also paint and clear coat bond if delayed would turn out much more prettier.

@chinyoti the car has been painted from the inside and also the area behind the dashboard is painted too , so the car is ready from inside ,

Also @Xulfiqar @chinyoti only the dashboard is in the car all other stuff is still out of the car .seats and everything is still put of the car..and i see no reason to use dolly casters there.

Since your car is already under coated. I guess it ok to do it, like it's being done.

In case you plan to ditch the alloy wheels. Get these wheel caps. They really really go very well with margalla plus.

This particular car has margalla bumpers which I don't like.

@chinyoti i like the alloy wheels , as silver with ash grey , gives a good combination imo , also am rescuing my old bumper (the original margalla plus bumper) but will be using the normal margalla front bumper as I couldn’t find the original margalla plus front bumper.

the dolly casters are used to move the bare shell - like complete powertrain removed, braking system removed, all wiring removed, all suspension removed and then the car reassembled again after paint.

It gives the best possible outcome and you can catch far far more issues of hidden rust and other problems like seam cracking that way.

But your money your choice!

Your job is going very fine till now as per condition and skills of current market workers.

I think I have asked you about denter and painter earlier too but you have not answered, kindly share their address details or contact number so that other pakwheelers can also get benefit of it otherwise Karachi market is now full of junks who demands and takes too much money but cannot do good work as unaware of basic ABCD of their own work.

Also do share more details about paint finishes of your dashboard and trims

I guess only mohsin ikram is using such for old vintage cars.

Else everyone else is securing, lappi, anti rust, astar, paint. "Bhatti paint".

Try looking for the bumper in sheirshah or magzine line/plaza. Margalla plus bumpers make it stand out.

Maybe others can't tell, but to me it adds too much grace to it when compared with a regular margalla.

Else if the bumper is fixable. Alot of people in plaza/magazine line can fix your old bumper. Later you can get it finished in Matt black

Front as well as rear bumper of my Coullegue's Margalla also needs repairing job, Which one is trusted shop/guy to repair black bumper very well and in neat manner?

Repairing walei to bharei parei hain.

You can touch tajju in magzine line plaza, first corner shop opposite predy police station.

For Matt paint your painter should be insaan ka bacha. It shouldn't be a problem.

I just got a friend's Fortuners fender flairs fixed they became as good as new.

Yes @brownrose78 I’ve seen cars coming into the paint booth with small dents still remaining, The painter guy is a skilled person but just a little lazy , but knows what he’s doing and the denter is also a OK guy and do his work cleanly and quietly. About the bumper repair my painter will be soing that too, About the details of the denter , I’ll share everything about the painter once the car is fully painted.

@chinyoti I’ll install the back bumper of margalla plus but the front will be normal margalla , GTI bumper was also in my consideration but dropped the of that , but that would have looked real nice too

thats a bummer, You dont find many people (customers) who are actually willing to pay. A dolly roll will require a tow truck and a come-along bolted to the car itself and careful handling of the shell as its being worked on.

What I see here is a typical shade tree job.

If you still haven't purchased the bumper as yet better try to look for the margalla plus bumper that would be nicer in my opinion.
