Project VW R32

Dear Pakwheelers,

As the Mazda 929 coupe 1976 is ongoing at good pace now, the car is stripped and sent for engine bay paint and rust proofing.

Now on to the next project at hand. This time a bit of German galore. I have sourced a complete Golf R32 2008 model. The car has the V6 3.2L AWD with DSG gearbox and rated at 257bhp.

Now I need fellow pakwheelers to find me a Golf in Pakistan. I know of one grey/silver golf mk5 in Islo. Any leads on that one or any other golf would be appreciated. MK5 is preferred although if nothing else then even a MK2 would do.

Sourced a car abroad which I will strip for engine gear and all.,..need chassis in Pakistan to swap it in.

Umer i have seen couples of red audi A3 1.4tsi hatch 8P (mk2) which is base on mk5/6 chasis as well, the guy was selling in high price long time back

Engine is out of the doner car and being cleaned up to go into the Blue one which is ready for transplant already.

You have sources an engine and transmission.. and now looking for chassis to fit it in... shouldn't be this other way around ?

It's a long shot, but there was an MK2 parked abandoned in phase II. No idea if it's still there or not, was pretty clean and straight. This was a year back.

That white MK2 parked behind the triangular PSO fuel station was a piece of trash, it was rusted to hell everywhere, (If you saw some other car then please do post) there was one white mk2 on a sukkur registration number which I bought for myself but sold it out later (before I left pk) - my own is with my uncle.

I do know of one mk1 Golf diesel in Karachi in very good condition but the owners are part insane part crazy - its a very low mile example and was actually imported as a brand new car in Pakistan. (the story keeps on changing from dada ki nishaani to ghar ki fard to some other useless crap, the car is not a rotting hulk but its actually taken care of)

No no no.... that white MK2 with black older style plates is trash. The one I'm talking about has been repainted to a metallic mauve color, 15 inch wheels and a very clean body. This was parked on an empty plot next to a mechanic's shop on main Ittehad. For easier reference, and I'm sure you know of that place, there is a workshop there which only fixes Mercedes cars. It's an old workshop located at the start of Ittehad. The Golf is/was parked there. I have pictures of it in my old phone, let me see if I can find them.

i actually got a another dead R32 here in Qatar and swapped the engine and transmission in it.

I looked for the pictures, unfortunately they were on an older phone which was stolen. Will go around the place and see if it's still parked there.

All good man . Swapped the engine here in Doha into another r32
