I finally used a very strong bar (cv axle rod of mehran) ground down as a crowbar lodged into the lower arm hole and into the spring once it was loose from the bushings - It gave me a chance to mount the spring in the seats and start to lift the jack and attach the everything else.
btw the springs I was fighting were of W124 which are more HD than this car. btw I love the ball joint setup that these 202, 210 etc cars have, all that is needed is a hammer - two whacks and the tapers let go, install new and done. Under 1 hour for both sides.
