I think this might be it. Notice the huge black bezels and tiny little silverish display in the middle. I assume the black bezels will have capacitive buttons when the car is turned on.

This picture is of pre-facelift version. In the current Saga the center air vents and infotainment have swapped positions. The Audio unit might be the same though.

This interior badly needs some chrome or silver accents. All-black looks depressing.

One feature which isn't listed here but can be seen in Malaysian reviews of the Saga is that the fabric seats have water resistant material, they do not soak through. Which is great for families with kids.

I have read somewhere that the R3 has 95hp and the other models have 91hp.

A good car launch in good price. Proton did not disappoint us like Changan. The only issue is the bad name of Al-Hajj group due to poorly handling FAW-V2 here. It will take some time to clear that up.

A very good price. At this price it is a very good alternative to Cultus and Picanto for those who need a bigger car. People who used to prefer Swift over Cultus/Picanto due to highway travel and having a feel of 1300cc in the same price bracket will also have a better option now.

Proton/AL Haj didn't disappoint with price. Now they need to keep it going with good aftersales services and parts, and not increasing the price after a week or so.

Overall good addition. At this price, its utility should be considered more than the looks. Slightly outdated interior and exterior is fine because it has the utility of a bigger car with 1300cc engine, and the features in the top variant are amazing. Had it been launched at same price as Alsvin then its looks and small size would have gone against it.

The thing I hate the most about saga is that it has hydraulic power steering whereas all other cars nowadays have electronic power steering
There shouldn’t be that much cost cutting in my opinion but still at least there is power steering

R3 is 93HP. 95 is PS which convert to 93.

Basically all SAGA varaints in Malaysia have same 95PS with 1332cc. I am sure R3 is a CBU only.

BTW torque figuers are same both for 1299 and 1332cc, 120NM

I am not convinced by R3. Paying extra for that would have made sense only if it had more hp via either a bigger engine or turbo. Make it 1.5 with turbo (same set-up as X70 with 170+hp) and then it'll be amazing. Not sure if this has enough space to accommodate it though.

No matter how the suspension is tuned for driving experience, the 1.3 engine with 93hp does nothing to justify buying the R3.

But the other variants are amazing. I mean it after Yaris it is the only car where all variants make sense in my opinion.

I think the extra frills ,

R3 Auto might also have leatherette seating and leather wrapped steering wheel, needs confirmation. This is how it is in Malaysia

Yes, being CBU will justify going for R3 more than any other difference in my opinion.
