saga is in one market for 35 years. alsvin c35, 75 etc have not beein in other markets for more than 3-4.

try finding any details of their engine or gearbox. you can easily get all specs and diagrams of the proton engines. not so much for changan. I bet you even changan pakistan doesnt know what "blucore" means. lol

Changan and Proton should be compared rather than Alsvin or Saga in my opinion.

However, Proton R&D also started massively relying on Geely since recent past. In fact, Geely just launched same Proton X70 shaped SUV here in Saudi.

Proton is using drivetrain tech. from Volvo and other R&D tech. from Geely,
whilst Changan is developing their own technology (blue core, dct, etc. as per their claim at least)

May be one can find details of Alsvin engine in Chinese language or on their own Chinese web search engines.

alsvins and yariss long delivery times may divert people to proton and once on roads there is no going back.

trust me I have tried pretty hard and I consider myself an expert in data science and skimming. There are no technical bulletins to be found anywhere, no engine notes, the most I could get was information from their annual investors report which just tells the engine name "M14A and M15A" and an older report mentioning early engines designed from suzuki G engines and new generation to be from K gen, but before that suzuki ended the partnership but changan now have 100 percent stake in suzuki china,
I went as far as upto their UK R&D guys on linked in, who dnt say anything, one person who left the changan UK team, told me about the 7 DCT, he had no idea about 5DCT but said that he was sure it has wet clutch and thats all,

So it means no one knows for sure how the engine works and what design it has? Wow. Matlab sometime down the life of the engin agar rebuild karna par gaya to specs ka kaisay pata chale ga?

Yes its a new company but the absence of this stuff is also worrisome. These specs should be available. I mean if Changan has been in the market of multiple countries, then there should be repair manuals containing all the technical information.

I don't want to see Alsvin 2ZR, 2JZ, 2NZ, 1NZ etc etc. engine swap threads popping up after a few years here on pakwheels. Need a detailed repair manual to be present in the market for Alsvin.

thats an issue which will surface after sometime.
A toyota, nissan or honda, u can get literally every thing related to maintainance and engine builds. you even get the torque numbers for bolts.
Saga engines u can get some FSMs (factory serive manuals) and maintainance manuals,
other chineses engine manuals and FSMs are nearly impossible to get. (MG uses Shanghai GM engines and some of their engines have been in chevorlet sedans, u can get some details about them from chevorlet forums)

The bigger problem wont be engine rebuilds/maintainance though, it would be other maintainance jobs like throttle body, engine sensors etc, stuff like that.

I have seen people claimaing k china agar toyota k spare parts banata hai to chinese gari k bhe banaye ga. Not necesserily. Any 3rd party will make spares/ copy spares if their market is big otherwise there is no point making them as they would cost more than company ones.
