So, as per our research, the company has claimed Rs8,50,000 as actual price of the car without any taxes. Meanwhile, the duty on the car is around Rs7,50,000, which makes the car’s worth around Rs15-16 lacs.

So, we think the price of the car should be around Rs20-lacs to Rs22-lacs, because it seems reasonable and perfect to give tough competition to Alsvin."

Indeed. If CBU is costing them 1.6 million then CKD will cost even less. Car should not be priced above 2 million in such situation if the company is serious about its long term plans in Pakistan.

It is smaller then Yaris, City and Alsvin. More like the size of a margalla.

Top spec nearing Cultus AGS/Picanto AT won't be a surprise.

With shortage of Cultus if the timing is right Proton can do wonders. Else it would be just another car.

Their is literally no car available in the 2 million category at the moment.

ALTO Is a dinky, cultus has un committed 4 month delivery time, Picanto has crossed 2 million, Alsvin isn't avaliable. Gradually WagonRs delivery time has also gone from ready delivery to 1 month.

cultus is also more expensive than picanto. That only happens in Pakistan, I think that saga if priced correctly will disrupt the hatchback sales

Looking at FAW V2, Yes but let's hope al haj faw is offering a better, more reliable product which is avaliable to genuine buyers rather then artificially being short from market.

any idea about how much of cultus is localized , i was watching a video about toyota pakistan and they claimed that 80 percent of the corolla is localized and 20 percent comes as CKD. Still 40 percent of the total vehicle value is tax.

One plastic door handle is counted as one part, complete engine is also counted as a single part

That I guess is the only way Toyota can claim that 80% of Corolla is localized in term of number of parts. Otherwise in terms of value of parts, it certainly is no where near 80% localized.

I think apart from engine and transmission, most things are now locally made in Corolla. I observed that on the Yaris too, the window glasses and windshields are locally made. The shocks and other suspension stuff is locally made. The multimedia screen and speakers are locally made. I think the seats are also locally made. Plus, I think they buy sheet metal and shape it, so they consider the body to also be locally made perhaps, not sure about that. Tyres are generally the first thing to be localized.
