seems like R3 AT might have some additional features too. Price different from R3 MT is 250k which is a lot considering just AT upgrade

In my opinion, pricing is OK, not as aggressive as it could have been.

Here is the equivalent pricing in Malaysia compared to Pakistan:

Base MT 1,216,000 vs 1,979,000 (62% more)
Base AT 1,327,000 vs 2,129,000 (60% more)
Premium AT 1,476,000 vs 2,229.000 (51% more)
R3 AT 1,568,000 vs 2,429,000 (55% more)

Not saying we should have gotten Saga at the exact same Malaysian prices but paying 1.5 times more for a locally assembled product doesn't sit right with me. Remember, we still don't know what features PKDM saga will miss out on. Hope they will give identical features as in malaysia.

Pricing seems nice i think for the base variants.
In this price you only get a cultus or a half power windowed wagon r or picanto.
This is a car, has a trunk, has more utility. Good for families.
At least 20 lack lagaey banda to kuch nazar to aye.
I'm amazed how people have the strength to buy a wagon r and cultus at this price.

I think it's a great upgrade for cultus owners.
And it'll definitely give suzuki a hard time.

The middle ACE A/T trim seems to be the best value for money. R3 doesn't carry any meaningful upgrades(only cosmetic stuff) and is more expensive only because it is some sort of special edition limited to 2,000 units.

Yes, that seems to be the most value for money trim. Also, it has hill hold assist, traction control and stability control, features which are not present in alsvin.

I think that comparison is unfair. Proton sold 15k saga cars in March 2021. Here, this number is more relevant at yearly sales level. Plus, the car is on sale in Malaysia for the past 30 years or so, with 1 generation change and 1 face-lift, which were both very recent. Economies of scale don't match. It is more or less similar to what we had in the shape of Mehran.

There is fine print to it. 5 years is only for certain parts like window channel and motor. Engine and other mechanical is 100K, 3year I believe

prices arent too bad. Could have been better , still no complains. Should sell very well , a lot better than picanto and cultus.

for 20 lacs you can get a 1300 cc sedan which is quite reliable.

If Alhaj operation remains same as FAW, Proton will fail as well. I discussed with some Proton people and they say FAW principal was too lazy and blamed them

Operations are very important, and they can make or break a car as we have seen multiple times, and Al Haj track record is not very good.

Also localization and parts availability from multiple sources is needed (I don't know how). I mean why can't someone drive into a workshop and get his FAW/Proton/Kia/Hyundai worked on like corolla, city, cultus, alto (old generation specially) where both all parts are available (from scrapyard to OEM) and also mechanics understand the car.

But a good addition to the market.

That is true. My brother's FAW V2 had an accident and it required some new suspension parts. It took a couple weeks for the parts to arrive. And a single shock for his car was more expensive than a pair of shocks for my Aqua, both bought brand new. The only difference being, parts for Aqua were available from different vendors/sources/manufacturers, while FAW had monopoly of parts on the V2. This cost makes it more expensive to keep new to market cars.

I hope Alhaj rakes care of this in case of Proton.

I think the R3 is just cosmetic, im pretty sure the engines in both are same, both have the same power numbers.

All cars with ABS. ACE with stability control. I blv its priced fine. big competition for cultus, maybe picanto too,

R3 has sharkfin antenna which gives 100+ horsepower.
