Heard from some investor/dealer banda. They're looking to demand 7-8lack for CBU. Since Tucson has set that limit, on its early units.
It would at the least be 500k

Would it wise to get confirmation from dealers that Proton X70 CKD will have exactly the same features as CBU.I think Mr.Fazal Wahab is right that the warranty for Engine parts is 3yrs/100000kms while windows/sunroof etc. 5yrs/150000kms.They have also priced CKD at a higher level and may increase it on delivery after assessing demand.This again is highly unethical but then everyone else especially Indus Motors take the lead.
Right now I am holding my money to my chest.Havent been more undecided.With 7-Speed DCT Wet clutch and Turbo I am not sure whether Al-Haj group has the technical experience/knowhow to handle this car.

One noteworthy point, Proton says that unlike CBU, when X70 starts being locally assembled, the lower variant will be FWD and higher one will be AWD.

CKD deliveries has been pushed to November as per unofficial information. CKD would not start before July and first two months will be low volume assembly.

We booked a Proton X70 today (CKD). The options were X70 and MG HS. MG has by far the better interior but as discussed here their whole operation is a bit dodgy, there is no infrastructure in place for local production, reliability itself is questionable. Add to that there is no 3S dealership in Lahore. X70 offers the same features, has a great looking exterior, has proper 3S dealerships network and will have good support hopefully. Also I prefer the 1.5T engine on X70. This car is a top seller in Malaysia so clearly it can't be bad. The price itself is 500k lower than MG so the choice was easy.
